Role Aditya Birla Group Played in My Life

During my childhood, I have heard Birla as a synonym of success. In movies and TV shows, everyone quoted the Tata and Birla as a synonym of success, pride and perseverance and how they have spread happiness to the millions of Indians.

From that encounter onward Aditya Birla was a name very common to me, right from the cement advertisement to luxury fashion brands ABG gas touched the lives of the Indian people in all walks of life.

I remember those days when I used to be too excited when my uncle used to take me to his construction site. Those cement bags which had UltraTech written on them and the logo of Aditya Birla Group never failed to capture my attention. For an 8-year-old, it was closely associated with his interpretation of how houses were being built. And fast forward to 2018, when I built a house we had no option other than Ultratech Cement. The ability to surpass the conventional perspective of being just a brand to something closely associated with the dream of every Indian family makes it very distinct and close to heart.

After completing the Class 12 board exam, I receive my first mobile phone as a gift.  I had no other choice than to opt for Idea as the preferred network as the campaigns ’No Idea Get Idea’ and ‘Break the Language Barrier’ were so popular. I still use the same sim and over these years Idea had been with me helping me communicate the happiness and sorrow.

The fashion concepts of an average Indian family were radically revolutionized with the introduction of fashion brands of Aditya Birla Group. My teenage was heavily influenced by how my elder brother chose these fashion brands specifically and now being an MBA student I can appreciate how successful Aditya Birla is as a company with high customer retention. I still pop into the brand stores like LP, Van Heusen to check out the recent trends, These brands have left a mark on the Indian customers over these years.

I believe the Aditya Birla Group continues to touch the lives of the Indian with their array of products and services.

Biggest Challenge: Finishing a half marathon

The Biggest Challenge I faced in my life is the journey form a physically unfit obese child who finished last in every race to a physically fit man Finishing a half marathon. I was introduced to long-distance running as part of physical training competition in school. I was consistently finishing the race as the last person and the feeling of pulling my team down was high. Eventually, I wanted to improve my stamina and wanted to finish the race well ahead of time. This dream was eluding me for so long and that was the biggest challenge I faced.

It was this quote of my teacher “Even the world best long-distance runner would be tired after a couple of kilometres and thereafter what takes them forward is the sheer will power” that changed everything. I stuck to the quote and started practising for the run. I started running with people who had good stamina and tried never giving up. After a year of practice, I finished the race in the first 10 positions and thereafter I had never worried about running long distance in school and eventually running became my hobby. After many years I had attempted my first Half marathon which I could Finish within the stipulated time. I went on to Finish 5 more half marathons and a handful of 10Km runs. And now I dream of Finishing a full marathon.
