Part A: Why is ABG big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group is a premier business conglomerate which has been providing it’s services in chemical industry, telecom sector, garment industry,cement industry and what not. The five core values which are – “Integrity, Committment,Passion,Seamlessness and Speed, have played a significant role in the groups success and growth.
The very first service of Aditya Birla Group which I used was it’s telecom network ‘Idea’ ,it effectively connects people living in distant places, it’s strong network has generated the value of trust among the people. The second encounter with the group was Planet Fashion, from where I got the first pair of my business formals.Be it the Bandra-Worli sealink or the tyres of your two-wheeler the group has left it's mark in every segment of our lives.
Under it’s CSR initiatives the group has worked in 5,000 villages, reaching out to 7.5 million people annually.. It has 42 schools associated with it, affecting the lives of approximately 45,000 children, it has also provided more than 12,000 scholarships. It has worked extensively for improving quality of life of the people of villages in the proximity of its plants and industries The group is surely transforming the lives of many for the greater good.
Part B: How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
It was 4th day of February 2018, 4:55:00pm.
I was picking all the questions abruptly and all my strategies had backfired. I realised that I had screwed up and GATE Mechanical wasn't a child's play for sure.Soon the exam got over and I was on my way to home. The only thing that was troubling me was the question "What to do next?"
The companies coming at my college were not at par with my expectations which made me reluctant to apply for them until then, but after the examination I was forced to reconsider my choices.Preparing for GATE 2019 was yet another option for me, but I was very much intimidated by the thought of failing again.
I made up my mind to apply for college placements, I appeared for two interviews but couldn't clear them. I was running aimlessly,trying to fit in a place I didn't belong to and was failing miserably.
Time flew by and my college got over soon. I was left without a job.I started looking for a job in the nearby companies but soon I realised that an academic profile of 9/9/8 was not good enough for one to get a good job. I wasted my 2 months post college searching for a job, during that period I came across a lot of demotivating people.Someone even told me that I had wasted four years of my life doing nothing(just because I hadn't done certification course for a software being used over there) .
That was the moment I decided to make one more attempt for GATE.I again started my preparation for GATE.I was two months late to enter the race but someone has rightly said "It's better late than never".The next few months I focused on learning new concepts and revising the old ones.I made an effective strategy to attempt the paper by learning from my past experiences.Consistent study and constant motivation from friends and family boosted my confidence.
I attempted GATE 19 in a calm and composed manner and cleared the examination with 99.58 percentile.
I think it's the journey which teaches one more than the results. If you are really passionate about something then pursue it regardless of thinking about how people will judge you on failing.Failures teach us much more than success.
As it is rightly said,
TOUGH times don't last, but TOUGH people do last.
