- How Aditya Birla Group touched my life?
“Aditya Birla Group” – the name itself says everything. I was familiarized with the name right in my childhood when I went to shopping with my mother. When it came for buying shirt materials for my father, she used to go for GRASIM.
After passing 10th standard with flying colors, I received my first mobile phone with an IDEA sim card in it which eased my interaction with all my fellow friends. In college life, when I was familiarized with the latest fashion trends PANTALLONS (acquired by the group in 2012) was by favorite shopping destination and the jeans range offered by FOREVER 21 is my all-time favorite. During the onset of my campus interviews, when I was looking desperately for formal outfit, Allen Solly and Van Heusen provided me a pretty wide range to choose according to my need.
After a tiring day at the office when I had no time to go to the market and buy commodities, a nearby more supermarket saved me. I used to get my daily needs under a single roof. After saving some money from my little salary, when I was looking for investing it somewhere, I came to know about Birla Sun Life Insurance. But then only I got the golden opportunity to study in IIM Visakhapatnam and left the job. As of now I have kept the thought in my mind and will implement it when I will get my next job and looking forward for another experience with Aditya Birla Group.
So, starting from the GRASIM dress material bought by my mother to the more supermarket near my office - Aditya Birla Group is influencing my life some way or the other since my childhood and I believe it will also play a similar role in my future life.
- How have I overcome hurdles in my life?
Since childhood, my life was going in a smooth way. There was not much ups and downs and I was a kind of introvert who neither can mingle with people nor can talk without hesitation with unknown people. My mother did not even let me out alone in the road fearing that I would not be able to walk there cautiously, and which will finally lead to any accident.
In these circumstances, when I got my offer letter for joining in an IT company that too in a different city, my parents were very scared and too was I. I was fearing that there I will not be able to stay with unknown people in a completely unknown environment. But my parents sent me there forcibly. During the first few days, I was very homesick and longed to go back, but as days went by I started to talk with people around me and finally ended in making new friends which I could not even think of if I was in my comfort zone i.e. in my home.
So, being an introvert was a great hurdle in my life and moving out of my comfort zone helped me to a lot to overcome that and today also I am working on this issue and trying to improve it day by day.
