1) Why ABG is big in my Life

Aditya Birla Group is one of the biggest conglomerates in India with its footprints in various sectors such as Banking, cement and meals etc.

Being from a middle-class family, I was swayed by the ELANTE Mall in Chandigarh. At first, I thought I could not afford anything from this mall, but then my friend took me to pantaloon Showroom. The prices of clothing items were affordable, and I bought few shirts.  Later on, I took my family for shopping in Pantaloon, and I received the same reaction from them.  I also came to know that it was a part of ADITYA BIRLA Group and this is how I was introduced to this company.

When I got my first job, I was posted in Mumbai for the first few weeks. I thought of buying a few gifts for my family from Mumbai. Again, I went to Pantaloons, and I was astonished when I came to know that premium brands like Van Heusen, and Louis Philippe is also a part of this chain. I bought a Blazer suit for my dad and dresses for my mom, and sister from pantaloons, total expenses were under 12000.

I am a Civil Engineer, and I was working as a planning Engineer in AFCONS Infrastructure Limited. At my site, Cement was one of the major material and we have a tie-up with Ultra tech cement. I have coordinated with many vendors during my professional career, but services provided by Aditya Birla UltraTech Cement were incredible. With their continuous supply, high- quality product and services UltraTech cement made my working life very easy.

So the way ADITYA BIRLA helped me in my personal and professional life, I can say ABG is big in my life.

2) How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambition in life

Born in a Family of marginal farmers, my father got his first job when I was two, which led to the dream of building a better future for me. After getting admission in NIT Hamirpur, it was difficult for me to cope with the pressure as I was from a small town with little exposure. In first mid semester I failed 5 out of 6 subjects and wanted to just go back my home. I found it very difficult to ask help from anyone because of fear being judged. But my parents motivate me work hard and stop focusing on results. They just want me to give my best in my studies and it started becoming more and more difficult as it was first time when I was away from home.

With time I started making friends and started opening up. When I was making new friends I was also getting accustom to the new place.  After that my friends helped me and Professors helped me, finally in my first semester I was able to score more than 70%. Then I started focusing more and more on my studies take voluntarily participation and also received appreciation from both my college and Himachal government because project I worked on was Govt. projects.

Finally, in my last year when companies start visiting our campus again, pressure starts getting to me. As I was from civil department, only limited companies visited our college and which further addon pressure. But finally, with my continuous hard work, I got Placed in AFCONS Infrastructure Limited for GTE program and scored 74.5% in Graduation.

I was in top-20 grad wise and one of 35 students out of hundred who got placed from my department.
