Part A- Why is ABG big in my life

Aditya Birla Group, the name which gained so weight behind it through its journey of 162 years in the Indian as well as in foreign markets. Established in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla is one of the biggest Indian Multinational Conglomerate. It operates in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide.

Brought up in a small village in the town Kullu, there was never much space for the big brands to build up in my small town. One of the brands that really made its presence in India was “Aditya Birla Group”. Grown up with the brands such as Grasim Industries and Ultratech, are one of the symbols those represent market quality as well as loyalty in the industry due to its penetration into the remote markets where the other brands fear to enter. When it came to telecommunication, Idea was one of the major players in the private telecom sector which made the distances in our remote village quite short. Even when I was working with L&T the only name that was synonymous to cement was Ultratech.

As I have grown up, the presence of Aditya Birla Group has grown even more profound with time. The name echoes in every sector on which you lay your eyes and is not just considered as a competitor but a market leader. Now whenever you roam on the streets a reflection of Aditya Birla Group will always catch your eyes. This is how much Aditya Birla Group has affected not only my life but surely all of our lives for good.

Part B – How I Overcame challenges to achieve my ambition in life

Brought up in a small village in the town Kullu, there was always a dearth of opportunities in your way, but the more you work towards your dream the easier your path becomes. These are the words I have always lived by in my life and the journey has been sweeter as the days have gone by. With all the hard work and a liitle bit of luck brought me to one of the colleges of my dreams, National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur.

With loads of enthusiasm and little exposure a small town guy was glared upon by challenges which at first seemed like Loch Ness Monster. As the time went by, what I learnt was that the shadow always seems larger when you source your light from afar. Never will I ever say that the challenges were easier to conquer than I believe but what has not been won by enough spirit and perseverance. My dreams stood me on the national podium bringing me up from a small town.

Now after working with L&T for almost 2 years and getting admitted into one of the finest B-Schools, NITIE Mumbai, I believe as I look back in time, I did make it. Starting from a small village whose name you won’t even find on Google Maps (it’s Chererra by the way) to an international platform which pioneers in Industrial Management in the business heart of India, life could not have taken a sweeter turn. Destination is always better when your journey has been memorable and trust me, mine has been nothing short of fantastic.
