With 162 years of legacy, Aditya Birla Group (ABG) is a behemoth of stupendous proportions, cutting across a plethora of industries and touching 1.25 billion lives, making it almost a ubiquitous and indispensable presence in the heartland of Asia- Our India.

Imagination is said to have no bounds, but even a concept like it can fall short when it comes to quantifying the impact that the Aditya Birla brand has had in our lives, from cradle to the grave.

ABG has potentially been a part of my life journey since the very 1st time I gained consciousness. From the plastic hinges of the stroller in which I explored the world around me, to the question papers that I so despised during school and college, Aditya Birla Chemical Ltd. has probably played a crucial role in their manufacture. It has ensured that I lead a healthy life since its chemical products are crucial for purifying drinking water, manufacturing medicine and enhancing crop production. The paints produced from its products have canvassed the walls of my home for generations. In fact, the very foundations of those walls have been reinforced with its flagship product- Ultra Tech Cement, the same cement that was used in the construction of Worli Sea-Link, the crown jewel of Mumbai. Every time I pass through the sea-link, I am astounded by the sheer scale of the project.

Hindalco, the metal flagship company of ABG, since the company’s inception in 1958 has been an engine of growth for the independent and resurgent India. And hence, by extension, it has been crucial in my growth as well. Having worked in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) industry in the energy sector, I’ve seen first-hand how the ABG brand has become indispensable in major construction projects.

ABG has left a mark in the financial sphere as well, not only on a global scale but also on a personal level. I’ve been holding SIP in Aditya Birla Sunlife mutual funds for a few years now and it has given me absolute returns of 30% in a 5-year period.

Even my social life is dependent on ABG’s products and services. It’s telecommunications arm, Vodafone-Idea Ltd., handles my calls while its fashion arm, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd., fills up my wardrobe. The ABG brand has been a source of pride and inspiration for the Indian in me, with it’s CSR activities touching almost 7.5 million people.

In essence, Aditya Birla Group has been a silhouette of my life’s unraveling story.
