For me, it was a dream to get into one of the premier B-schools of the country. After a yearlong effort, I finally got one of my dream B-schools, I made it to IIFT . This was my chance to take another step closer to my dreams and aspirations. I received my admission letter stating the commencement date of the program. Now, this was my time to get my wardrobe ready with all that I might require to sail through the B-school journey. And the timing was no short of perfect; it was Summer sale in Pantaloons. That was an amazing opportunity to get many amazing set of clothes for varied occasion, all under one roof. After this, it was the time to finally get the formals and this was a struggle. It is very difficult to find formals for women, as many showrooms in tier-II cities don’t keep them. Every showroom I went, there was collection only for the men. The reason was as simple as almost no sale of women’s formal attire in that small tier 2 city. Now, that was disappointing. After an extensive search, I found only two brands where formals were available. That was, Van Huesen and Allen Solly. I got a wide range of options to choose the best for me. Aditya Birla Group makes lives simpler. It is an important of my life as after I am in the campus, Vodafone-Idea ltd keeps me connected with my loved ones away from me.
I have always been a student who has made academics her priority. I have always put my best efforts to excel at what I study. And after my class 12th results came out, I was on cloud 9 when I found that I’ve scored a whopping 96.6% and attained a rank among top 3 students of my school. I was invited to my school to address the fresher batch and give them some idea on how to study to ace the board examinations. But, the moment I stepped on the stage, I was filled with a feeling of dread and panic. I discovered a whole new fear of mine, Stage fear. I delivered a pathetic speech, nowhere near to be inspirational. I wasn’t able to face my teachers after this on-stage blunder that I just made. I was surprised at the fact that, I discovered this so late. But it was better late than never, I made up my mind that I’ll work on it and I’ll overpower this fear of mine by facing it. With the help of my friends and my teachers, I practiced a lot to excel at the art of Public speaking. From being that person, who feared the idea of stepping on the stage, to become the person who has won many competitions on college level in debates and extempore. And I appreciate this person everyday who is not afraid of being afraid as long as she takes action to overpower all her fears and inhibitions.
