2. ‘How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far’?
Focus and hard-work are two prime qualities that have been with me since the time I was a child. I have successfully tailored these qualities through all highs and lows in my life. During my under-graduate course, I always had an ambition to join one of the many prestigious B-Schools after my graduation. However, at the time of placements of our batch, I got an opportunity to work for Infosys Ltd because of my strong hold on technical domains. As a result, due to some family circumstances and peer pressure about taking the opportunity first-hand, I joined the company and dedicated all my focus towards my work. But MBA was always there at the back of my mind and it kept cropping up at many times during my whole 2.2 years of passage with Infosys Ltd.
Although I was preparing for entrance exams with full commitment in whatsoever little time I used to get from my hectic and tiring office working hours (and by hectic I mean genuinely working for about 10-12 hours at client side location with Income Tax Department of Government of India) , finally, I decided that its time to give that much needed extra push to my preparations for something I had planned to do since my under-graduation days. Also, this was something I could not include with already described working schedule. As a result, after much contemplating over the issue, I finally resigned from my job to prepare extensively. At times, there were scenarios when relatives used to express their strings of doubt such as” Why did you leave your job?”, “What if you do not get anything even after trying so hard?”, “Why did you not ask anyone before taking such a big step?”. Statements like these acts as necessary pre-requisites to bring an individual down to his/her knees. Thus, without letting these questions act as catalysts for my downfall, I continued my stride forward with enormous focus and hard-work.
Proving all uncertainties invalid, finally, got selected in many prestigious B-Schools of our country from which I decided to join NMIMS, Mumbai. As I am sharing this anecdote from my life, I am again experiencing all the emotions and sentiments that had flown through this phase of my life. Focus and Dedication towards my work certainly are the two qualities that have rightly guided me to achieve what I ought to in my future endeavors.
