Born and brought up in a small suburban place in Jharkhand, I always knew that I shall have to move far away from home for education and job. So, after matriculation I moved to Bokaro for my further studies. Raised as a single child with minimal worldly exposure, here I was a teenager in a new town all by myself. From food to education, for the first time in my life there was no one to fall back on. The food was horrible, the room I stayed in wasn’t up to the mark and most importantly I was struggling to strike balance between school and coaching institute. I felt lost and doubted myself on several occasions. Somehow, I stuck through but the first few months were tough, my grades took a nosedive, and health deteriorated. What kept me going were my parents and the hardships I knew they had undergone to put me to the place I was. So, every time I failed, I remembered them and reiterated the dreams we shared. It helped me to keep standing through the rough patches. It took me little time to adjust but, in few months, I started gaining the confidence back and the grades also started to improve. Today it has been over a decade and since then and I have moved to several cities for education and job. But those tough days remains to be the compass of my life.
