The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively- Bob Marley
Integrity, commitment, passion, seamlessness and speed are the values upon which the mighty conglomerate Aditya Birla Group is founded upon. It is the 3rd largest conglomerate in India and also caters to 34 other countries. It started as a jute manufacturing company in 1919 and have now widened into the areas of fashion and retail, aluminium and copper manufacturing, cement, telecommunications and finance to name a few.
Vodafone-Idea, Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Pantaloons, Hindalco, Van Huesen are some of the most successful brands of Aditya Birla Group which shows that how they have built their brands on the values they stand by. They are present in almost all the aspects of our lives. If I am able to sit in my IIFT hostel room and talk to my parents sitting thousand kilometres away without any reception problem it is thanks to the wonderful network they have built. Whether you are thinking of buying clothes, building a house, Aditya Birla Group is the constant behind all. Aditya Birla’s most successful brands are Hindalco- world’s largest manufacturer of aluminium rolling and copper manufacturing, Birla Carbon- a carbon additives supplier and manufacturer, Ultratech
Cement- India’s largest cement manufacturer, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd- which has different clothing brands under it, Aditya Birla Capital Ltd.- a financial services company.
Values, purpose, relations, customer satisfaction and most importantly -indispensability from the lives of its consumers is something that is making this conglomerate big in the world. These are the values which I want in my dream company.
Every challenging situation that I have faced in life has taught me to look at big problems from different perspectives, which has enabled me to break them down into smaller and actionable components. I recall facing a dilemma where I was confused between two pillars of a healthy economy- integrity and bureaucracy. I had to confront a bureaucrat who had incorrectly given a pass certificate to a factory which did not have its standards as prescribed and would have harmed the environment immensely. I was hesitant to muster courage to speak against the bureaucrat, but my integrity knew no bounds. It gave me strength to speak up against the wrong. The value of integrity is what I have purely acquired from Aditya Birla Group. This is what made me so connected to the brand that it had the values for which I was looking.
Aditya Birla Group has been consistent in their performance, delivery, customer satisfaction, withholding their values over all these years has lead me to want to work with them.
