‘Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life’
Truly said, ABG touches millions of lives in the world. Anywhere I look around me, I see ABG products. I have been using so many products of ABG, so many brands, without consciously realizing that they are all from the same parent company. I knew ABG group was huge, but not until I researched about it a few months back, out of curiosity about the UltraTech Cement brand. I knew Pantaloons was from ABG. That's where I had been going to shop from all these years, because I trust the quality of products and customer service. But when I started to read about this $44.3 Billion conglomerate, I was amazed. Next to TATA and Reliance, ABG has done wonders. It makes me a proud Indian to know how an Indian company can impact the lives of its 1,20,000 employees and millions of customers all across the world. Very few Indian conglomerates have this kind of scale. If seen from an observational point of view, ABG is present everywhere around me.
My day starts and ends with the products of Aditya Birla Group.
When I wake up, I switch on my phone to check the texts that came overnight. That is facilitated by the Idea Vodaphone cellular service I use. After bathing, I wear the clothes from ABG brands like Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England, People.
The food I eat was prepared from the groceries my family got from More. The supermarket, though no longer a part of ABG, was founded as a retail subsidiary of ABG.
Then leaving for college, I see buildings around me, most of them made from UtlraTech Cement. The businesses around me, with financial support from Aditya Birla Capital, growing and prospering. And so many things around me like viscose staple fiber, metals, viscose filament yarn, carbon black, chemicals, fertilizers, insulators, BPO and IT services that are all a part of Aditya Birla group. Its presence in my life is truly massive.
'How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?'
As said correctly, a life without struggles is not a life at all. In order to achieve greatness, we have to face every downfall, every defeat and ever challenge as an opportunity to prove ourselves and to do our best. To make the best out of the worst possible scenario.
And that's what I did. I am grateful to everyone around me, who have supported me in my journey. But I would also credit myself for overcoming the challenges I faced. Coming from a biology background, having done research for a long time in biochemistry, I realized my true passion was people. Managing people and facing challenges everyday. So I decided to purse my masters in business administration. With a weak math background, no work experience and not a prodigal IQ, I decided that though I faced these challenges, I am not going to give up without trying. I might not be as intelligent as some people around me, but I am a hard worker. My resilience, determination and the motivation to learn and grow helped me to get into the college I am studying in right now. It's one of the top MBA colleges in India, and I am among the youngest in my batch. Though I might not have as much experience about the industry yet, I bring a fresher new perspective, a creative way of thinking and many new ideas to the table. Though at first I was deterred by seeing the kind of experience my batch mates had, I realized that I am not going to compete against them. I am going to compete with myself, because this is my story, and my journey and I have come so far and I am going to push my self every day to be a better version of myself. And now here I am, achieving my goals and dreams.
