PART A
The roots of the Aditya Birla Group can be traced back to 1857 in the tiny village of Pilani, Rajasthan when Seth Shiv Narayan Birla ventured into cotton trading. Today, with operations across 35 countries, and revenues of US$48.3 billion, the Group is a leading player in aluminium, cement manufacturing, viscose staple fiber, carbon black, chemicals, copper, financial services, telecom, branded apparels, fertilizers, viscose staple yarn, and insulators.
If I think of my day-to-day life, I can fit the influence of each brand of ABG in my routine. From clothing brands like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, to the telecommunications brands like Idea Cellular and Vodafone. All my daily needs are found under one roof at the leading supermarkets by ABG. The roads I travel on and the buildings I work in, have used the brands like Ultratech and the Hindalco’s Extrusions. If I’m concerned about my life and future, ABG has brands like Birla Sun Life Insurance and Birla Sun Life Asset Management. Not only these, but the AB Group also has top-class educational institutes and social welfare organizations. Its brands are among the leaders in their respective categories and it is among the most trusted business houses in India.
The Aditya Birla Group is certainly ‘Big’ in our lives.
PART B
The motto of Aditya Birla Group says: “Big in your Life”
When I think about the ‘Big’ in my life, I ponder upon my achievements. And I think my most significant achievement so far is the quality of ‘Endurance’.
I have been persevering since my childhood to try to carve out my life during my academic career by participating in many extracurricular and social activities; trying to pursue ahead in hobbies right from singing to baking and, to learning languages; and working intensively to finish assigned tasks at work.
Versatility not only brought in the true essence of my character but also helped me connect with people who are like-minded and are ready to push their limits to approach the end goal within stipulated deadlines.
I think trying to put your best in all the tasks you have on your plate at the same time is quite tough. And I believe endurance is that quality that has kept me going on and will drive me till attaining the expected results.
