Aditya Birla Group through their diverse products have reached millions of people and have a special place in their hearts. Myself and my family are definitely one of them. ABG is a conglomerate in true sense. Their products range across various sectors, therefore impacting our lives in numerous ways. Being a millennial, I am influenced a lot by the group's firm Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd. It’s in-house brands like Pantaloons, Planet Fashion, People, Louis Phillipe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England, Forever 21 have made a place in people’s wardrobes. The fashion brands covers the style and taste of different people across gender, age , community, profession, etc. From ethnic to western apparels, and from mid-premium to premium segment, they have catered to a large spectrum of consumers.
I have been wearing apparels of ABG brands since the longest time, and I am impressed every time by the quality and style it offers. Among the spectrum of brands, I have few favourites like Allen Solly, Van Heusen which satisfies my diverse choice of style, every time I step out to shop. Also, the spectacular quality of fabric that the brands offer, makes me feel special. The effort ABFRL brands make in forecasting consumer trends by predicting and analysing information regarding colours, fabrics, silhouettes, styles, etc impresses me a lot. This helps them to bring us the trending clothes and sense of style. Particularly the young generation like me, who are perplexed about their style choices and wants to follow the trends that goes around, ABFRL is a bliss. Also, a significant impact ABFRL has created is the great penetration the brand outlets have in tier – 2,3 cities. I have lived majority of my life in a tier- 2 city, but I always had access to all the retail outlets of ABFRL brands. There is a large population in such cities and the affordability of clothes of the brands, helps them to be at par with the fashion and style of the population of metropolitan cities. Now, ABFRL has revamped its e-commerce websites and made our life more convenient. People can get their desired clothes just by click of few buttons and this has enhanced the reach of ABFRL brands.
ABG has massive presence in the lives of people, and my case is nothing different. Particularly, it’s unit of fashion and retail has influenced my life to a large extent.
From Erratic to Earnest
We have many ambitions in life and there are numerous goals that we want to achieve. But there are myriad of challenges that we have to overcome to be an achiever. Most of the time, the biggest barrier to achieving success is our self. Often, we have thoughts about doing something challenging and find ourselves saying: 'I'll never be able to achieve that!'
In my life, I came across few such challenges, where I fought with my inner self and crossed the barriers. Since my childhood, I have somehow struggled with my academics because of the lack of ability to concentrate. There is no overnight solution for this struggle. I worked on myself, my mind, my body to overcome it. I started to meditate, do physical exercises so that my body and mind stay focused and alert. I created a regime for myself, so that I can follow it consistently. Also, I trained myself to give unwavering attention to anything I do. Whether its reading, watching tv, playing sports or talking to someone, I always try to be in that moment and give undivided attention to whatever I am doing. I tried not to multitask, and give my 110% to a single task which I was doing at that moment. These practices have helped me academics, in my professional life, and be a part of a prestigious b-school like the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. I believe there would be more challenges going forward in life and I would try harder to overcome them.
