Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group has formed the foundation of my family’s first ever house. Living in a rented house for about 18 years, I started craving for a house that I could call my home. Be it playing in its garden without any restrictions or be it the desire to decorate my own room, a house had become both a need and want. Ultra Tech Cement is the way by which Aditya Birla Group made a permanent room at our home.
Another way in which the group played a major role in my life is with its formal apparel range Van Heusen. I am a fresher and hence was far away from any corporate exposure or understanding of business attire. When I was called for my first interview at NMIMS Mumbai I found myself at a dilemma with what could be the best thing to wear. Van Heusen exclusive store in Dehradun became the answer to my question. They provided me with the most apt business suit for the interview. I discovered how power dressing could enhance one’s confidence and as Maria Sharapova brilliantly explained
“When you look good, you feel good. Confidence with what you are wearing is very important. If you feel good, you will always perform your best without worrying about anything.”
The Aditya Birla Group’s Van Heusen did the exact same thing for me.
These two narratives from my life might be small but the role played by the group is big.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
Early in life, I discovered I was hydrophobic. Whenever I had the opportunity to go near water I would happily skip it.
Even though it was not hampering my professional life, yet it was a setback as I was allowing fear to sabotage my happiness. I did not want fear to become a habit and hence I decided to overcome it.
I joined a swimming class and started my journey of learning not just to swim but also to overcome fears in life.
The initial few days were difficult. I vividly remember the first time I was asked to take a deep dive in water. I panicked and came out. I wanted to leave the training immediately but something held be back.
I took my head under water several times. It took me a month to learn swimming.
The instructor praised me in front of the entire batch, as I was one of the finest swimmers in the batch.
I realized it is true,
“Fear doesn't exist anywhere except in the mind.”
This incident rewinds in my mind whenever there is any fear stopping me from achieving my ambitions.
