My association with the Aditya Birla Group

The Aditya Birla Group is omnipresent in the life of an Indian. With brands across sectors as different as mining, cement, fashion & retail, telecom, and financial services, it is impossible to miss them at any time. My most memorable interaction with the brand was when I bought my first blazer which was from an Aditya Birla Group brand - Louis Philippe.

I wanted a blazer for my farewell and photoshoot celebrations in my final year of engineering. It was also planned to be a long-term investment to be used for other occasions too. I searched through several stores and brands but did not get any blazer of my size. But then came Louis Philippe. The very first blazer that I tried on, fit me perfectly! And what’s more, it came in a full set with a pair of trousers which fit me perfectly too!!

The blazer and trousers have served me faithfully over the years and have seen a variety of situations from photoshoots, parties, weddings and, different job and college interviews. The fabric of the clothes is of the highest quality and has received no stains or permanent scars over the years despite some hard usage. The two are very dear to me and they are my first-choice wear for any event that requires formal clothing.

From my wonderful experience with Louis Philippe, I have, in all future clothing purchases, decided to first go for Aditya Birla Group brands only. I look for the same quality and reliability in all of my purchases. The Aditya Birla Group has left me with an inedible experience and a product that I will forever cherish.

The biggest challenge of my life

The biggest challenge that I received from life was dealing with my mother’s terminal illness. She was diagnosed with ALS and fought the disease with courage, strength and phenomenal mental fortitude for 4 years before it got the better of her. These were very trying times for our family and we were devasted. To further exacerbate the situation, I had to give all my MBA exams in the coming days and weeks or face another year without doing my MBA, which would have been detrimental to my career.

I decided to control all my grief and sadness and go ahead and give all the exams and any further processes if I qualified for them. I decided to just do my best and not worry about the results. This was an important lesson that I learned from my mother. What is most important is to enjoy the process and learn as much as possible from it, without worrying too much about the result. When this happens, the results also start to show up and this is what happened with my exam results as I got calls from several colleges as I did well in all my exams. I further performed well in the interviews and other admission processes and received admission into the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, which was a dream college of mine.

I believe that I showed enormous courage and fortitude to not give up in a situation in which no one would have said anything even if I had. There is probably no challenge that a person can face in life than the loss of a loved one and in the face of such devastation, I believe that I performed admirably and with a grace that she would have been proud of.
