The Aditya Birla Group has a massive presence in the lives of the Indian masses through its number of businesses such as the in the fields of Textile, Cement, Metals, Fashion, Telecom and Financial Services. There are two businesses of Aditya Birla which have played a huge role in my life.

First is the multi-brand fashion retail chain Pantaloons. As a kid, I was always fascinated with big showrooms in malls where you can roam freely, try whatever you like and then buy it if it fits you perfectly. Pantaloons was always my first choice when I had to buy any apparel. The quality and the fitting of the clothes offered here at the price was no match to other showrooms and brands. It’s still my first choice when I have to buy any new apparel.

Second is the telecom giant Idea Cellular. Idea was my first sim card when I had bought a new smartphone during my junior college. I still remember those What an Idea Sirji!! Campaign ads starring Abhishek Bachchan which I used to enjoy whenever it came on the TV. The network reception of Idea in Mumbai was spectacular and reliable. After the merger in 2018 with Vodafone, It has now become the largest telecom company in terms of subscribers and revenue.

Also, the CSR department of Aditya Birla Group is responsible for running around 20 hospitals across India. The group also runs 56 schools across India giving scholarships to meritorious students. I believe things like these make an organization great and have an impact on everyone’s lives.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far

During my work experience at a consulting firm, we had to perform assessments for a client to understand their cyber security posture of the organization. Timeline for completion of the project was given as 5 months and I and my team worked with complete dedication for timely completion of the project. At the end of the fourth month, the client suddenly wanted to change the framework we were using for the assessment. The client was unhappy with my team’s first draft, so we were tasked with redoing the entire plan. We organized a late-night brainstorm that evening. With the help of our manager's guidance, team's ideas and keeping in mind our client’s feedback, we came up with a new deck with a better framework for assessing our clients. The work of 5 months then had to be completed within a month's time, hence the new framework had to be designed in such a manner that it is short but still exhaustive in nature encompassing all the client requirements. The new deck was shown to the client and he was ultimately thrilled with the fresh plan, and all of the new ideas we included. The client would have lost the trust on our organisation, if we would fail on this project, as it was the first time we were dealing with this particular client. We also promised the client to leverage the work done in the past four months to save their time as well. With strong perseverance, dedication and out of the box thinking, I was able to overcome this situation.
