With the onset of the Mall culture in the mid-2000s in Delhi, Pantaloons was one of the few retail brands to set up and trips to the mall were something I’d look forward to, every weekend as a child. A few years hence, as a teenager with an inclination towards fashion trends, I practically swear by Forever 21 as my go-to store. Forever 21 has created a sense of brand loyalty among teenagers like me, so much so that for any event whatsoever, it always seems like the best choice.

Coming from an Army background, where life was all about shifting residences, moving to a new house was a different experience each time. Some of them were really old accommodations, constructed decades ago, which stood strong - courtesy Ultratech cement.
While an upbringing in the Army has numerous positives that reflect in one’s personality, the challenges give a tough time. The frequent transfers result in an inadequate stay at one place; and lead to instability in the schooling years, and a continuous cycle of making new friends and losing contact with them. The moment one felt settled in a new city, and acquaintances turned to friends, unfortunately it was time to leave and start over. Moreover, the small towns that become a temporary home, do not offer facilities and the exposure that is guaranteed in large cities.
When faced with such challenges while growing up, it is imperative that the mind remains open and positive. I learnt that taking everything in its stride is an effective approach to remain a positive person. Knowing that we’d have to shift sooner or later, from a place, helped me mentally prepare and be determined to perform better, when I started over in a new city.
Therefore, the interruption in schooling years and all other difficulties were accepted as a challenge, to be overcome by steadfastness and diligence, to facilitate all-round development.
