HOW ADITYA BIRLA GROUP RELATE TO ME
Aditya Birla Group is an Indian Multinational Conglomerate, established in 1875. The founder of the group is Seth Shiv Narayan Birla. Its headquarters is in Worli, Mumbai. The group has its operations in Cement, Textile business , Telecom services , Financial services and Fashion retailing. Apart from engaging in multi corporate activity, Aditya Birla Group has done several CSR activity also. One of them I would like to mention is its Polio eradication drive held in Mumbai in April , 2009. The championing was all related to childrens being not able to walk and short in height and facing severe physical issues . Mrs. Rajashree Birla, the chairperson of Aditya Birla Center for Community Initiatives and Rural Development conveyed that though the polio had been eradicated from across the world, it still has its presence In countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria and India. While it is true that States like Bihar and UP are two highly endemic polio states and in Mumbai the cases are low but then too some villages in Maharashtra have more severe polio cases. The group along with Rotary International held camps in those villages and make sure that every child is immunised. On 5th April the government declared National Immunisation Day and on the day the group team up and reached every child who needs vaccine. The team made fixed booths, house to house visits, vaccine at railway station , markets, public places. I know about this campaign because I was once a member of Rotary club and I am stating this example because my family was also approach by the team in very decent manner and vaccine my niece which was 2 year old at that time and how they told us patiently about Polio dose. So, it was very nice how corporate leaders also looks closely to the matters like this. This gives a message to all what are our duties toward society either being an individual or a company as a whole.
HOW DID I OVERCAME THE CHALLENGES ?
“If your first instinct is to run away from failures, then perhaps you’re doing it the wrong way! This is Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla's mantra to deal with failures” Regarding challenges we face, firstly we have to analyse that from where this challenges come from and to what extend we try to overcome it. Because winning very game or every phase of life what brings Ego and over smartness within us. Failures are necessary but not every time and failing teach us to cope up with our mistakes properly. I would like to mention one of my failure that is when I was in my 3rd year graduation level I was also preparing for my entrance exam to pursue MBA from a top notch B-school. But I couldn’t convert any good college because of my lack of preparation . That lead to one year gap. Though I cleared all my subjects in Grad college and done with graduation in B.com, I couldn’t convert any b-school. My family is always so supportive but I made them feel disappointed at that time because in my school duration I was a very persistent kid with good grades and this sudden scenario changes everything . But I didn’t let myself or my parents down and tired with double hard work to overcome my mistake and challenges . I first analyse my situation and started working on the areas of problem. I was not so good with Mathematics subject, I practice it day and night and equally gave same time for other subjects. This make me learn the content in the book and also teaches me if we tired very hard to complete certain objective then we should go for it. We get to know many success stories of Birla’s how they plan it and work on it.
This is how I feel connected with it , as some work can be done but cannot reach Up to its peak but we don’t need to get over stress over it because many more qualities we have within ourselves just we need to throw some light on it!!!
