IIM Ahmedabad has released its selection criteria for admission to its PGP programs for the 2025-2027 batch. Like last year the minimum CAT overall percentile stands at 80%ile. This year, IIM Ahmedabad has assigned 65% weight to CAT 2024 scores while shortlisting candidates for the AWT-PI round. At different stages, shortlisting is done through the Application Rating Score which is obtained via the 10th, 12th, graduation score, and work experience as of 31st July 2024.

- The minimum CAT cutoff for the General Category is 80 percentile with 70 in each section.
- The composite score for interview shortlisting is 65% of CAT 2024 + 35% of the Application Rating Score.
- Application Rating comprises 10 marks each for 10th, 12th, and graduation different across streams and academic categories (explained below). It also includes work experience.
- Marks of work experience are calculated as-{ (Total Months - 11 months) * .20 }

Normalization of Application Score-
The normalized AR score of an applicant is equal to their AR score divided by the average of the top 50 AR scores from the group of candidates who appear for CAT-2024 and apply to IIMA.

Stage 1- Exceptional Performers
From each of the academic categories (AC) for which the total number of applicants to IIM-A who appear for CAT-2024 from SC/ST/NC-OBC/PwD categories is at least 100, the 5 % in the respective categories will be shortlisted for AWT & PI based on the composite score ‘CS’
Composite Score:
Application Rating* 0.35 + CAT *0.65
That is 65% of CAT Score + 35% of Application Rating
Stage 2- After removing the candidates selected in Stage 1 from each category (General, NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PWD) the additional number of candidates to be shortlisted for AWT & PI will be selected based on the composite score ‘CS’
IIM Ahmedabad Selection Criteria Step 4: Final Selection
Selection at this stage will strictly be based on the shortlisting of the candidates done separately for each category (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/PwD) based on their ‘Final Composite score’ The numbers selected in different reservation categories will be in proportions mandated by law.
