IIM Bangalore Placements 2022 - 10 Key Highlights From The Placement Report
- A total of 524 students received 662 job offers. The number of offers extended increased by 37 percent year-on-year.
- A total of 137 recruiters participated in the final placements process at IIM Bangalore.
- A total of 6 international offers were extended to IIM Bangalore's graduating batch of 2022.
- The average salary for the batch stood at INR 33.82 lakhs per annum.
- The median salary for the batch stood at INR 31.20 lakhs per annum.
- The top recruiter for final placements was Accenture, extending 49 offers to the batch. This was followed by Amazon, which extended 31 offers to the batch.
- MBB firms - McKinsey, BCG and Bain - extended a combined total of 78 offers to the batch.
- The top five lateral recruiters were Amazon (14 offers), Microsoft (12 offers), PayTM (10 offers), American Express (9 offers), and Oyo Rooms (7 offers).
- The top five pre-placement recruiters were Bain & Company (18 offers), Amazon (17 offers), the Boston Consulting Group (17 offers), Accenture Strategy (14 offers), and McKinsey & Company (12 offers).
- Management Consulting was the most sought-after sector for IIM-B's graduating batch, followed by IT/Product Management, and Ecommerce.
IIM Bangalore Placements 2022 - Accenture Strategy Extends 49 Offers To IIM-B's Batch
Accenture Strategy was the biggest recruiter at IIM Bangalore in 2022, extending a total of 49 offers to the batch and accounting for 7 percent of all job offers. Also amongst the top ten recruiters were Amazon, BCG, Bain, McKinsey, Kearney, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, American Express and PayTM.
In terms on lateral hiring, technology, fintech, and ecommerce companies dominated placements, with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, PayTM, Google, Flipkart, Myntra, Razorpay and others featuring amongst the top recruiters in terms of offers extended.
Consulting firms were amongst the top pre-placement recruiters, and firms like Bain, McKinsey, BCG, and Accenture Strategy offered double-digit pre-placement offers to IIM-B's graduating batch.
IIM Bangalore Placements 2022 - Management Consulting Most Sought-After Domain At IIM-B
IIM Bangalore is one of the top IIMs in the country for Consulting placements and, once again, the domain has dominated the final placements season at IIM-B. This year, a whopping 42 percent of the batch opted for roles in the Consulting sector. The next most sought-after sector was the IT/Product Management domain, with 1 in 5 students of the graduating batch opting for these roles.
The least sought-after domains at IIM Bangalore included Business Analytics and Operations, with a combined total of 5 percent of the batch opting for these roles. Marketing and Sales roles were also not huge on the campus, with another 5 percent of students opting for these roles.
