IIM Calcutta has completed its summer internship placement process for the 58th batch, securing 570 offers for 476 students, with 142 firms participating in the placement process. The placement saw participation from top financial institutions such as Bank of America, Blackstone, Macquarie and top consulting firms like Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co., Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co. Key Highlights
- The students received average and median monthly stipends upwards of INR1.4 lakhs.
- The top 25 per cent percentile students of the batch (in terms of stipend offered) received stipends higher than INR 2 lakhs per month.
- The placement drive saw an expansion of Hold & Wait (50 extra offers), Dreams (36 extra offers) policies.
- 121 students were offered internships in the Finance sector, while 120 students were offered internships in the Consulting sector. The two sectors combined accounted for 50% of the total hires.
- The Sales & Marketing and General Management sectors accounted for 19% and 13% of total hires.
- Major software services and e-commerce brands accounted for ~10% of hires.
