IIM Ranchi's 2023 placements report is out! The institute witnessed about a 7% increase in both the average and median salaries for the MBA batch of 2023. More notably, the highest salary touched a whopping 67 lakhs, which increased the impressive average salary figures for the top-10% and top-20% of the batch. Some big names hired from IIM Ranchi's largest ever batch; these included Amazon, Microsoft, American Express, Accenture, McKinsey, AB InBev, and Tata Steel amongst many others. Average and median salaries up by nearly 7%, highest salary at 67 lakhs | IIM Ranchi placements 2023
In terms of salaries offered, IIM Ranchi saw a successful placements season for its batch of 2023. The highest international salary stood at an impressive INR 67 lakhs, while the the highest domestic salary stood at INR 35.50 lakhs.
The average salary stood at INR 17.30 lakhs, up by 7% over the previous year. The median salary stood at INR 16.50 lakhs, up by 6.5% over the previous year.
Notably, though this increase in salaries is significant, other second-generation IIMs like Kashipur, Raipur, Trichy, and Rohtak have all seen a double-digit increase in the average and median salaries (up to 22% in the case of IIM Trichy).
The average of the top-10% of all salaries stood at INR 30 lakhs, while that of the top-25% stood at INR 24 lakhs.

Highest salary offered for sales and marketing profile | IIM Ranchi placements 2023
In 2023, the highest salary of INR 67 lakhs came for a sales and marketing profile. On average, the top-paying profile at IIM Ranchi was IT and analytics, followed by Finance.

BFSI, IT/ITES, Consulting make up nearly 50% of all offers at IIM Ranchi
In 2023, the BFSI sector was the most sought-after for IIM Ranchi's MBA batch of 2023. Interestingly, preference for the IT/ITES sector was cut in half, compared to last year when almost 33% of the batch took up offers from companies in this sector. Interest in consulting roles also appears to have diminished somewhat as
compared to last year.
FMCG saw the biggest relative surge in interest, with 13% of the batch taking up roles in this sector compared to last year's 5%. Other significant increases in sector preferences were seen in manufacturing and pharma and healthcare.
Top brands offer coveted roles at IIM Ranchi in 2023
In 2023, a total of 124 companies participated in IIM Ranchi's placements process, which was an incredible 62% increase in the number of recruiters compared to last year. These companies hired 100% of IIM Ranchi's largest ever batch of 399 students (up from 253 students in 2022). 76 students received pre-placement offers (PPOs).
Top brands hiring for sales and marketing included the likes of Microsoft, AB InBev, Asian Paints, and Maruti Suzuki, amongst others. Roles offered for this domain included digital marketing, product marketing, business development, market research, brand management, and territory sales management.
Companies hiring for finance profiles offered highly coveted roles including asset management, wealth management, corporate banking, investment analytics, retail banking, and equity research.
In 2023, top companies hiring for IT and analytics roles included Accenture, EXL, American Express, and Capgemini, amongst many others. Roles offered included product management, application management, digital consulting, business analytics, project management, and product analytics.
Strategy and Consulting roles included IT consulting, business strategy, tech strategy and analytics, corporate strategy, strategic advisory, and business development.
Companies hiring for operations profiles included Amazon, L&T, UltraTech Cement, Tata Steel, and State Street amongst many others. Ops roles offered included project management, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, operations analytics, business operations, and customer success.
