IIM Shillong has released its admission/selection criteria for the upcoming Batch of PGP MBA 2025-2027. In the Pre-PI score the CAT 2024 score will account for a 65% weightage and 35% for 10th and 12th scores. Read below to get a gist of the latest admission process of IIM-Shillong.

- CAT has a significant weight in both the Pre-PI (65%) and Post-PI (40%) stages.
- The minimum percentile requirements vary by category, with 75%while overall for General and EWS categories, and 50%lie overall for ST and PwD categories.
- Each section (VARC, DILR, QA) must meet individual percentile cut-offs.
- Academic Performance
- Academic scores play an important role, contributing 35% of the Composite Score during shortlisting.
- Your Class 10 and Class 12 marks are scored separately, with Science, Commerce, and Arts streams evaluated using slightly different scales.
- Work Experience
- It is evaluated based on the duration of your professional experience, with the highest score for 24-30 months of work experience.
- Post-PI, the quality and relevance of your work experience could influence your ranking.
- Personal Interview (PI)
- The PI holds a 40% weightage in the final selection process and is crucial for admission.
- Gender and Academic Diversity
- Diversity points contribute 10% to the overall score.
- Final Admission Criteria
- The final selection is based on a Composite Score that includes CAT (40%), PI (40%), Academic Rating (10%), and Diversity (10%).
IIM Shillong Admission Criteria for the PGP batch 2025-27 is divided into two phases:
- Phase 1: Shortlisting candidates for the Personal Interview (PI).
- Phase 2: Final selection based on a composite score.
Phase 1:
- Candidates applying to IIM Shillong through CAT 2024 must meet the minimum sectional and overall percentile requirements in CAT, as shown in the table below:

2. The composite score is calculated for the candidates who qualify step 1, This is calculated using CAT percentile and Normalised Application Scores which includes Class X + Class XII + Work Experience. The rating score table for these are given below:

- Candidates will be given a final composition score using the metrics above. The normalized score is calculated on the pool of applicants who appear for CAT2024 and apply to IIM SHILLONG.
- Post composite score candidates are grouped based on their academic diversity, Further, eligible candidates are grouped as per their social category.
- Finally, a total number of X candidates will be shortlisted for the PI process. X will be decided on the CAT2024 performance, the seats IIM Shillong offers.
Phase 2:
To arrive at the final merit list, The CAT score + Composite score + Gender score of the shortlisted candidates are used. To encourage gender diversity 10 points are awarded to the candidates representing the lower proportion of the eligible pool.
There is a different Cutoff percentage on the performance of candidates in communication and proficiency as shown in the table below,

The overall score will be calculated based on scaled scores of CAT2024, Application rating score, PI, and Gender. The admission offers will be made to candidates based on their ranks of overall score and the ranking is based on decreasing order of overall score.
