InsideIIM Professor of The Year 2020 - What XLRI Students Have To Say About Prof. Bagchi: "The professor has vast expertise on the subject and the pedagogy of Case presentation followed by analysis is the most effective way of delivering the content. Moreover the command in the field based on real life experiences makes the course more intriguing and is not just limited to theoretical aspects. The secondary benefits apart from the core content is the presentation skills that one develops while preparing PPTs which are expected to be extremely professional structurally adds a lot of value to the  students ' learning." "He gives us a holistic and realistic view of business management. His course includes all aspects of management including finance, marketing, HR, industrial relations and supply chain. He teaches us all these concepts in a very easy to understand yet effective manner." "Amazing teaching skills, covered most of the subjects of MBA through case discussions. People rarely missed his classes. Even a few students from other courses came to attend his extra class." "The nominated professor went much beyond the course content inculcated a logical, strategic and structured thought process in us." "Has an unparalleled way of approaching cases that can amaze the smartest of the batch. Changes the very foundation of our belief systems and dogmas with every sentence he utters. Has a spectrum of knowledge across industries that few human beings can rival. And above all one of the kindest and most caring professors I've met, always willing to help." Here's what the Professor of The Year series is all about, and why it matters. The following are professors at XLRI who missed out on winning the title of InsideIIM's Professor of The Year in 2020, but are loved by XLRI Students: L Gurunathan: "Probably one of the best professors in the B-School circuit, Professor Guru has served on the Sixth Pay Commission of GOI and is a Subject Matter Expert when it comes to Compensation and Benefits. The best thing about his pedagogy is the way he conducts his lecture based on classroom discussions and brings in perspective that we could have never imagined. The course was never limited to a specific function but was linked to various aspects of the business and it signified how a specific function in the HR domain can have far reaching business implications. Beyond this, his witty remarks makes the classroom atmosphere very lively and engaging." Sabyasachi Sengupta: "The most calm, composed and competent finance faculty that you can find in any of the B schools across the country. He will very calmly explain every concept in case you fail to understand it and will be very calm. A person who has achieved inner peace. A sense of humour unmatched by any other faculty (you know it when the questions in the exam usually have the names like "Pain unlimited, Pain maximised, Pain continues") and yeah, the exam is crazy tough."   Liked This?
