Sarad is a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary by profession. He has around four years of work experience in Big 4s. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance from IIM Kozhikode. He completed his under-graduation from St. Xaviers College (B. Com). He recently completed his summer internship with GEF Capital Partners (a Private Equity Firm, in Mumbai), where he assisted in potential portfolio expansion by conducting research & feasibility analysis on the textile waste recycling sector. He secured an AIR 7 in Strategic Financial Management in his CA Final exam which substantiates his interest in the finance domain. During his corporate stint, Sarad was felicitated with numerous awards like the Above and Beyond award, Client Appreciation award, Spot awards, and other recognitions. He is one out of 350 IDFC Scholar Awardees in India. Sarad is also an elected member of the Students Placement Committee of IIM Kozhikode and has successfully placed the largest batch (550+) in the history of the college with stellar statistics. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and is passionate about music & singing.
Sarad Agarwal took the initiative to bring a global FMCG MNC, which didn't visit their campus, to participate in the placement process at IIM Kozhikode. He conducted thorough research on the company, engaged with senior alums, and successfully organized a guest lecture from the Company's top management. Despite facing roadblocks during the discussions, Sarad showcased his negotiation skills, addressed concerns, and ultimately secured the Company's participation. This project enhanced his interpersonal, people, and negotiation skills, contributing to his personal and professional development.
During his MBA, Sarad exhibited leadership by partnering with non-finance background students for finance-related projects, showcasing his ability to explain complex concepts and prioritize team growth. He plans to leverage his MBA skills, including a holistic understanding of business issues, strong financial knowledge, and the ability to handle pressure and multi-task effectively, in his future career.
Sarad aspires to join the finance industry, specifically in private equity, venture capital, and investment banking. His Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary background, coupled with extensive research and valuation modeling experience, make him a strong fit for this domain. His approach to teamwork involves empathy, support for team spirit, and ethical leadership, as demonstrated during his corporate stint at PwC.
