An Awaited Family Get-together

That day the newly built house had breathed fresh air and had astonishingly come alive. Reckless falling of utensils, kids running hither and thither, elders chattering in the hall. Guess who the happiest member was that day, the House. I was being built by workers who were responsible enough to use Ultra tech cement which gave me a strong base.

My owners were a nuclear family so I wasn’t expecting much people and chaos around until today. The foreign returned cousins flaunted their Ralph Lauren handbags until they saw their Indian siblings owing the exact ones. Kids running around and gobbling food with quirky Forever 21 t-shirts “Girls Bite Back”. I have always loved diversity in clothes and how do I know the brands?  Of course, I have been listening to all their jabbering. The first- borne were busy gifting Linen clothing fabrics to younger ones because that’s an old tradition running in this family. The next generation were all dressed smartly uptight in smart casuals from planet fashion. While the respected uncles looked young in their formals from the collective. Our foreign returned NRIs didn’t fail to impress us by their smart choice of Hackett t-shirts. Everyone was dressed perfectly for the occasion which was the birth of the youngest child of the house.

Suddenly there was a huge bang at the door which scared the insiders but as granny opened the door; there stood her grandchildren in perfect formals from Allen Solly waiting to surprise her. She was overwhelmed looking at them as they flew all the way just to please her right after their office. The elders continued their business talk on the table stating their investment on Hindalco listen in BSE. My owners got a lot of appraisals for their new built house especially for the stylish and flawless windows which were Eternia Windows. It was an amazing day listening to all the important people of the house; praising me and finally the day came to an end with my mistress finally resting on the sofa and looking at the advertisement of Liva in a fashion magazine.

Everybody makes mistakes and everyone has those days, no one in this world has ever led a life full of roses. I was no exception life had always been like a rollercoaster ride and I was determined to stay strong when it went low. But as it is said no person can stay strong all the time, it so happened when I was in class 10 preparing for my boards. I was a single child but unlike other single children I wasn’t given the required attention. I can’t really blame my parent they both were working hard to support the family but while doing they had skipped the fact that I was being ignored. Even I hadn’t paid much attention to that until one day I saw my school friends performing in front of their respective parents but when my chance came there was nobody to appreciate. I was hurt deeply I went crying back to an empty house and pretended to study when my parents came back home. They had forgotten it was parent’s day in school and I couldn’t really blame them they were workaholic because they wanted me to lead a luxurious life.

Boards were round the corner and their absence was killing me I had no one to share my feelings but it all changed when I changed my tuition. The new tuition teacher was kind and supportive she wasn’t just an excellent teacher but also like a caring mother. I used to spend time with her even after my tuitions and would help her correcting the papers of small kids. She had been my moral support and when I thought I couldn’t do it she made me believe in myself. Guess who came out with flying colours in boards, yes it was me and the first person I ran to was my tuition teacher. Thank god we have people like her who don’t educate you just for money!
