Delhi and fashion are two things I strongly associate myself with and love to talk about at far greater lengths than someone can put up with. I am unabashedly, madly and gladly a “Delhiite” at heart who is all about movies, food and fashion. Not conforming to the society norms and living life in the moment comes quite naturally to me and in my little, carefree world Aditya Birla Group has made big and significant impact. Sadly, Delhi isn’t just known for its delctable dishes and trendy fashion, it is also infamous for crimes against women, which makes the life of every Delhi girl a bit more challenging. Neverthless, I’ve learnt to enjoy and appreciate the little things that matter, one such heartening moment I experienced was when I saw the Pantaloons #StyleYourChange ad on YouTube. The ad beautifully and visibly with great style stirred the young girls to venture into the unknown, conquer their fears and be their bold, brave and bright self. This encouraged me to plan the road trip I had passioantely dreamt about but neither had the courage to face my parents nor the patience to address their safety related concerns. Finally, after watching this ad I came up with a concrete plan to drive approximately 1500kms; Delhi-Lansdowne-Chopta-Mussoorie-Dehradun-Delhi and made all the accomodation arrangements accordingly. Initially, I faced some resistance from family but they understood eventually, I didn’t forefeit and they had to understand my perspective and later allowed me to go on my much awaited dream trip. To top this I took my pug, Oscar along. It was a life-altering, fun-filled trip and needless to say the change Aditya Birla Group brought in my life is exceptionally big.

The trip not only helped me to know myself better but also helped me to get a better understanding of my environment. I will always remember my drive from Lansdowne to Chopta, it is memorable for numerous reasons -the greenry on the mountains, thrilling long curvy roads and the pleasant weather. But I encountered a major hindrance on that stretch, the right rear tyre of my car went flat and it was 6 in the evening. In hilly areas sunsets before 6 and it had started to get dark and I was still 10 kilometers away from my place of stay, which was situated in a very remote area. Naturally, I panicked a little because I was stranded in a place totally unkown to me with no internet connection and nowhere to go to for help. Fortunately, I had packed the car jack and other essential tools needed to change the car tyre. Also, before leaving for the trip I had seen a couple of YouTuve videos of people changing car tyre though I had not tried it for myself. Anyhow, I pulled myself together and slowly and carefully changed the tyre in middle of nowhere, there was drop dead silence. After reaching to my place of stay in Chopta, I took a sigh of relief and sat along the bonfire for a couple of hours with Oscar reflecting on the day that had passed, I was really proud of myself and glad that Oscar and I safely made it to our destination.
