A person goes through multiple phases throughout his life be it school, college, job, marriage and what not. No matter whether he plans to do it or not, it will somehow come to him and one may or may not have any control over it as it’s the nature’s way of saying that you are growing up. Such sort of change can be overwhelming, it might make you feel a bit worried, a bit challenged and in some instances even helpless. But there is one thing that we can be certain off that this time will surely pass by and more often than not you will come out of it with flying colors.

I am just another person in this long list of people struggling to make it big in this world and is going through a similar yet different journey. But every now and then we need the support of our own people, our family, our friends but most importantly there are some things, that play one of the major roles in it. These are the things that help us stay connected with the people we care about, help us make their special days or even ours more special. They provide us with confidence and help us get into the right fit to be able to go and tackle these situations head on. They help us look presentable at times when we are lacking confidence, they help us provide with the best possible solutions of very small things that if left incomplete can make our life unsettling. These are the things that help us put the tiny pieces of our life into the right places so that we can live in peace and harmony.
There has been one company rather I should say a Jack of all trades which has been a key supporter in my life and helped it remain sorted. It is none other than Aditya Birla Group.
Let me begin with my very first interaction with it, I being from a small town aspiring to be big someday, decided to put everything on hold and jumped on to the speed boat that took me out of my hometown to one of the most loved and fast paced cities in India, Delhi. I came out of my fund filled and comfortable life and decided to prepare for one of the most prestigious exams, IITJEE. Since, it was my first time out of my home, I got overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of the city, the studies, the school, the competition. Living on my own, I started to feel a bit low. The close neck competition was no respite either, I began lagging behind in my preparation for a while, thus, I started yearning for home. Since, going back was never an option, so the only other choice I had was to make myself strong and determined enough to overcome all this and I came up with a solution that I can always connect with my family over phone and can have frequent conversations with them which can keep me motivated and strong enough to be able to live through this phase. But there was a lot of connectivity issues in our area. Each and every network had one or the other issues there, however, there was one telecom network that was available there all the time which helped me execute my plan and this network was none other than Idea. The “What an Idea, sirji” quote that they lived by was not a farce instead they demonstrated it as it helped me at a time where a slight change of my mind could have caused me my career. The prices, the services provided an immense comfort to countless folks like me who were leading a similar life. It enabled me to connect with my family and friends whenever I wanted and soon helped me came out of my shell and helped me to start blooming and eventually helped me achieve my goal.
Besides Idea, there have been countless other brands like Birla Sun Life Insurance, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Peter England, etc. who have played an immense role in my life from providing out family with the basic insurance to help us in any adverse situation to providing us an option to buy the best premium clothes which will help us stand out of the crowd. From college to B-school, these have helped me stand out everywhere at numerous occasions be it any presentation or an interview, they were always there to support me.
Thus, I can proudly say that Aditya Birla Group has played a big role in my life and has been a major supporter, standing with me throughout my journey, helping put the small but important pieces of my life in place.
Just like every other person in this world, I too have went through a lot of challenges, faced them upfront, dealt with them and moved on. There are challenges that you face, to help oneself and there are challenges which you have to face when you try to help the others around you for the greater good. There is one such scenario that happened with me which I would like to share.

During my college time, I was a member of the National Service Scheme. I am a firm believer of the fact that one should always try to contribute towards the society in whatever manner they can. Hence, we wanted to start by helping the nearby villages to our college. We wanted to spread awareness among them regarding sanitation, hygiene, cleanliness, domestic abuse, etc. However, the people there were extremely adamant to not let any of us do any such thing like that. They refused to talk to us, not even let us enter their house premises, some of them got angry and forced us to leave the area. A few of the villagers entered our college premises to revolt and ask the authorities to not let us enter their area. All the plans that we had were, brought to a standstill because there was a section of the villagers who were not ready to let some college kids depict and change the life they are leading.
However, we were determined to make some change in the society and what better place than the immediate neighborhood of your college. We realized that the people are not willing to talk to us because they are not able to connect with us. Thus, we changed the approach we were using. Thus, we changed the approach we were taking.
Our first objective, was to connect with them and understand them. We started by organizing a couple of book and clothes donation drives in collaboration with a couple of NGOs. This helped them to have a look at us and realize that we indeed have a good intention at heart. Then, we organized a plantation drive in that village, where various households took part wholeheartedly. In that process we also came into the contact with the head of that village. We talked to him regarding our initiatives and put forward our intentions in a clear manner and eventually he too realized that what we were trying to do earlier was for their good as well.
Thus, eventually, we were able to organize an awareness drive regarding the cleanliness and sanitation in that village. The female members of our group talked to women regarding this and even distributed the sanitary pads to them. Even men were told about the importance of sanitation pads and their importance in the lives of women and they were also made to understand the complications it creates for women. After the success of this drive, the people of that village were more than welcome to see us. We even organized an awareness drive for domestic abuse there and talked to various couples about it, informed them about how women are equal in all sorts and they should be allowed to do whatever they want. We even asked them to make sure that their girl child too is going to school as they can do even better than boys in all fields.
Thus, despite of all the challenges and tough situations, we tried our best to make sure that we are contributing to the society and trying our best to make an impact however small it maybe, on the society. Thus, I am proud to say that we tried our best to contribute our two cents towards the society just like ABG tries its best to cater to the society and try to help them by securing their future.
