I still remember the day I got the mail. Endless nights, long hours spent studying but I was finally a part of SCMHRD! The next stop was the Pantaloons store next door; with the best deals anyone could ask for. All of this while chatting away with my friends on my phone which also happened to be an Idea number.

While writing this article I’ve just realized the pervasive influence the ABG group has in and around my life. Be it reading a book on the bus with carbon black infused ink and tires to the cement building the house I live in; it seems to be everywhere.

As I began to know more, what stood out the most was the spirit of simplicity, almost a sense of ascetism that pervaded the relationships between the elders of the Birla family which have enabled ABG to grow from strength to strength while generations of competitors faded away.

I feel a sense of pride when I see an Indian company make inroads into foreign markets, not only to make profits but also to give back to society. Be it enabling differently abled employees, women in leadership, CSR activities which have benefited so many people across the globe, it is no surprise any employee would be proud to call ABG home.

In conclusion, I would definitely want to be a part of ABG in the future, as the values embedded in it mirror my own and the ones of at SCMHRD – Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Be it business or philanthropy, my college and ABG treat the world as one without borders, with impacts to be made which benefit all of us.
