Lhamo Dondrub aka Dalai Lama XIV, the famous spiritual leader from Tibet had once famously said, "I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe.”
These thoughts come naturally to anybody, once you set foot inside the magnificent and scenic campus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. There are few things left in the world which are still not just a click away. SIBM-Pune is definitely one of them. Such is the aura of the place.
Situated on just another hilltop in the Lavale Village, on the outskirts of Pune, the campus can be seen as modern fort which provides a perfect environment for young and aspirational minds to dwell and nurture.
‘You become a part of the family the moment you would receive your acceptance and remain part of it for the rest of your life’ were the words of my senior. And it would not take much time for you to figure out that. The tradition and history is unparalleled, and the quality of the professors and courses are extremely high. The campus community is very close-knit, with student councils organizing events throughout the year, providing the much needed break from studies to students.
The sense of family and community is not only within the student body but within the alumni network as well. The alumni try to keep in touch with the school as much as possible and it is common to see them visit the campus, interact with students, share their opinions and support their alma mater.
The culture at the campus is amusing as well as bewildering. At one moment you might laugh your lungs out, while at other you might cry your eyes out. Though mornings are the most pleasant, most of the activities are nocturnal. Contrast and Conformity go hand in hand. Sometimes it gets really tough but ultimately the tough gets you going.
If at all I would be forced to give two words for the campus life at SIBM Pune it would ‘Carpe Diem’ without a doubt.
That is what makes it unique.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Having worked closely in Aluminium manufacturing sector for almost 3 years, I would be willing to work for Hindalco if provided an opportunity with. MBA would be the perfect Launchpad and the past experience would help me appreciate the learnings of B-school more comprehensively. I think with deeper insights into the subjects of business administration, I would be the perfect candidate who can do justice to the responsibilities entrusted with in this sector.
