The Aditya Birla Group has truly made India proud; with its mammoth contribution across numerous sectors and thus changed the lives of millions, in the process! When I think of the group, multiple brands penetrate my mind, especially those in the textile sector as well as in telecom. Their clothing brands, Allen Solly and Van Heusen have always been my ‘Go-to’ clothing brand for formal, corporate settings right from the start. The quality and fit is superior and inherently aids in imbibing a strong sense of self-confidence. Right from my first formal interview where I tried it out for the first time, I knew that my choice was apt, so much so that now that I associate formal clothing with only these brands. Only a handful of brands can create such strong associations in a short span of time!

Another company under the Aditya Birla Umbrella which has been prominent and impactful in my life is Idea. With highly innovative marketing campaigns, its creativity has also been matched by the far and wide reach as well as the remarkable strength of the network connections that it brings us! I have always considered myself to be a travel enthusiast, and whether it is at mountain tops or at the most remote village or even by the most exotic secluded beach, the one thing that I can count on, is the Idea network connection! This itself brings a sense of security and peace of mind, to know that in any situation; positive or negative, everything you need is just a phone call away!

Apart from these two parts of the Aditya Birla Group which I feel very loyal towards, there are multiple other brands which have not only spread far and wide but have also shaped the Indian Industrial Status! These include the mighty brands like Ultra Tech Cement, Hindalco Industries and many others which have helped the Aditya Birla Group reach the pinnacle; the Fortune 500 list and set an exceptionally high standard of industrial excellence.

I have always been athletic and sporty by nature, thus my list of priorities have always featured sports around the top of that list! However being a part of various sports teams of my school as well as college also imposed its fair share of challenges too!

Firstly, my academic performance was of prime importance, thus time management became one major challenge for me, as we used to have long training sessions, which often left me feeling exhausted. Thus the process of being regular with my academics too became more challenging because I did not want to let anything intervene with my results. I represented my school and even qualified for various district level basketball tournaments and this often required travelling across the state, which led to me missing classes.

Being extremely conscientious about my work, I never let this give rise to any excuses. I took this as incentive to work harder. I had to make several sacrifices as I did not want to compromise my passion for sports or ambition to excel academically. I often felt socially excluded as in this constant pursuit of both my decisions and even felt anxious, nervous at the thought of either failing in either and simultaneously felt left out. This gave rise to a lot of negativity and self-doubt.

However, I realized that if I judiciously made the most of my time and was determined to perform well in both, it would give me a strong sense of purpose! Thus I implemented this decision with a highly disciplined, structured approach, carefully taking into account not to let either suffer on the account of the other! I even broke down my goals into smaller, achievable targets to help me systematically reach the top!

It was difficult to say the least; mentally and physically exhausting, stressful too! But at the end, when I was not only made Vice Captain of our basketball team as well as received accolades in the form of being a part of the Top 1% in my board exam as well as amongst the toppers in my college too, and even getting accepted into the top institutions of my choice, it was all worth it!

It has made me who I am today and I feel empowered knowing that I have what it takes to struggle until I reach where I aspire to be!
