I come from a family of government-sector professionals and I have bolstered this innate attitude of keep moving forward. However, I take after my grandfather, who was a man of untiring effort and myriad skills. He took up several odd jobs to rebuild the family’s assets after the trauma of partition. This inherited attitude has been manoeuvred and developed further by my life experiences. It is believed that as we grow up our ambitions keep getting bigger and to cope with the disappointment that follows when one doesn’t succeed must be backed by faith and positivity. I have applied the same whenever I have faced tough times in my personal, academic and professional life.

There have been times when I had to start from ground zero and giving up was a much easier option but I’ve always tried to remind myself why I started in the first place. Majority of the tenure in my first professional experience was extremely testing and exhausting mentally. I started working with a very clear aim of gaining on-the-job experience and applying the same to pursue higher education. This is what kept me going during the most difficult times until that point in my life.

However, my confidence took a hit when I failed to clear CFA level 1 and score well on GMAT even after 3 attempts but I channelized the disappointment and continued to take these major academic failures in my life as learning. The zest to overcome this challenge in my life where my future seemed uncertain kept me going and helped me reach where I proudly stand today as a part of the NMIMS community striving to make my mark academically in professionally.

Failure is a part of life as much as success is and challenges makes you feel alive. Everything that comes to us easy may or may not hold value in our life but a goal achieved by overcoming challenges will bring learning and value to our life. It is extremely important for me as an individual to thrive on both failures and successes.

Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?

Aditya Birla effortlessly manages to touch upon the lives of billions of people on a day-to-day basis all over the world across multiple categories. We as consumers may not be fully aware of the extent of ABG’s association with various businesses & individuals in providing endless products and services directly or indirectly.

Personally, the most relevant example is me being a consumer of the clothing brands such as Peter England, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, etc since years, not realizing that these fall under the umbrella of ABG. The group’s remarkable silent presence can be understood by the huge spectrum of users (individuals as well as businesses) of the telecom service provider Vodafone Idea Limited in India. In the face of demonetization, ABG brought to my life a revolutionary way of banking via BHIM ABPB UPI app

Having worked with L&T, I am well aware of the contribution of UltraTech Building Solutions to the private and industrial construction sector by the means of their wide range of scientifically engineered construction products from foundation to finish. Apart from the above-mentioned examples, there is a huge magnitude of the indirect contributions of ABG in our lives starting from the high-performance insulators used in the power sector as well as Indian Railways.

The role of ABG in our lives cannot be undermined as it’s nearly impossible to imagine life without even one of the many above-mentioned products. I am not a customer of the financial services provided by the ABG yet but I am sure that given the reputation, it’s not long before I explore that as well.
