A B-school is more of people and less of a classroom. While standing at crossroad of choosing which B-school to join, this particular aspect helped me a lot to decide. Hence, IIM Trichy was a decision well crafted and thought about. For me personally, work experience quality of the batch was of utmost importance as I believe that nothing beats the learning we get from our peers. Going by the batch profiles of the current batch, it was very reassuring that IIM Trichy puts significant emphasis on the work experience of the batch.
Upon joining the batch, I couldn’t be more satisfied and gratified with the diversity I am getting here. Most of the people have prior work experience and that too in most diverse of the fields ranging from manufacturing to product development to IT consulting to marketing to Doctors to start-up founders and what not. Imagine the class discussions and group tasks quality with this diversity. Yes, that’s exactly what we are getting here at IIM Trichy.
Understanding the concepts being taught in class or being given in various books is of utmost importance, but more important is their application in real life situation. So that was another crucial aspect I considered while deciding for IIM Trichy. The opportunities to work on live projects helped me decide rationally. Trichy being the centre point of the state has attracted various significant public and private sector companies. IIM Trichy being a powerhouse of research and ideas has certainly been attracting various such projects on campus, hence giving enough such opportunities.
If I talk in terms of the trust that marketplaces in IIM Trichy, it hosts most prominent of companies from across the globe for both summers and final placements. That shows the belief system IIM Trichy has built over a relatively short duration of time. This would not have been possible had the institute not been of global standards producing capable leaders. For an MBA aspirant who wants to lead the society towards positive, the kind of right career opportunities made available by the institute become significantly important to consider. Similarly, for me, the platform which IIM Trichy had to offer to lift up my career further has been another deciding factor.
Lastly, the kind of personal transformation I was expecting from an institute of national importance has well been taken care of by IIM Trichy and it even exceeds the expectations so much so that just a few weeks into the course and I already feel entrenched with so many responsibilities to live by.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and Why?
Having been a technology product-centred person, I stayed abreast with recent market changes in technology space. I understand that current industrial revolution, Industry 4.0, has been changing the way we did business. Digital is becoming the new traditional and hence the whole market is skewed towards digital. Given the relevant work experience I have with the Internet of Things and smart devices, and my inclination towards industry 4.0, I would want to work for Idea Cellular. Now after the merger with Vodafone the company will be growing at an even faster pace, hence enabling customers to switch to digital easily.
