During childhood, It was a routine at the time that my Dad and I used to watch this cooking show called “Cook it up with Tarla Dala.” We used to try experimenting those recipes in the weekends, when We (me and My Dad) used to take the helm of the Kitchen from the Captain (Mom), exploring uncharted waters. At times making a mess out of the kitchen, and experiencing the wrath of the Captain.
One Day, There was this episode on cooking pizza. We had never tried cooking pizza before I looked at Dad with my pleading eyes. Dad couldn't resist it. So, It was going to be a pizza weekend.
But how? We didn't have an oven to cook it in. We looked on the internet on alternative ways to make pizza, and we stumbled upon this article on “Cooking pizza without Oven.” My eyes sparkled! I looked over at Dad, and we knew this was it. The Idea for the makeshift oven was simple. The oven was constructed by using a pan and covering it with foil to retain the heat and cook the pizza evenly from every side. Talk about the wise use of foil!
We bought in some Freshwrapp Foil, Ingredients for Pizza and the experiment was on! It was the first time we cooked Pizza. Although, we burnt the first few batches. All in all, it was a success, we had fun! It was delicious.
That night was my first time cooking pizza; It puts a smile on me every time I have a pizza. It is my memory attached to the Aditya Birla Group’s Product - Freshwrapp.
Journey to my own business
Ever since I was young, I’ve always had a natural affinity ideating and building products. I had my first experience building a product was In 7th grade, when everyone was crazy about Dragon Ball Z. I saw an opportunity and created a video streaming website to watch DBZ. It flexed my product building skills, and I found it to be gratifying! Although I had a hard time maintaining it and had to shut it because I didn't have any funds to support it. But, I had my eyes set on that day, I will have my own business someday.
I got my first exposure to product building in the professional world was in my previous job, a startup. I was one of the first hires at this Data Analytics Startup called DataOne Innovation Labs, developing an ML-based market platform for e-commerce sellers. I had the opportunity to help build the core product. It was a great learning experience that solidified my desire to further develop my management skill-sets and my interest in Product Management and Business Ventures.
But still, I lacked the business knowledge. It’s, for this reason, I’m here today studying at IIM Visakhapatnam. I genuinely believe a degree in business management here will prove to be a high training ground that will bring out the best in my abilities.
