PART A : WHY ADITYA BIRLA GROUP IS BIG IN YOUR LIFE
The Aditya Birla Group with its diverse brand portfolio has touched every Indian’s life at some point or the other. When I think of ABG, it reminds me of their continuous presence in my life.
The first product that comes to my life is the ‘Freshwrapp Aluminium Foil’. Back in my school days where we carried our tiffin boxes which could be opened much later during the day, home cooked food ‘Freshwarapped’ provided the much-needed freshness to it. I can clearly remember my lunch breaks back then.
I clearly remember the moment when I got my hands on my first mobile phone. By luck, I got an Idea SIM as it was the only available SIM with the shopkeeper. I could seamlessly connect with my friends and family via calls and text messages anytime I wanted without a glitch. There was this period when I used to text my crush back in school day in and day out. I see ABG as an important medium by which I could connect with her. With Idea and Vodafone coming together I hope the synergy effect going forward would lead to greater services and satisfaction among the masses.
Now coming to clothing, I would not be ready to believe anyone who says he does not wear or hasn’t worn any clothing brand by ABG or hasn’t purchased clothes from an ABG fashion retail store. My mother gifted me an Allen Solly Shirt on my 18th Birthday and it was one of the best gifts I had received. The fabric, comfort, design was so appealing that now I look for brands such as Allen Solly, LP, Peter England.
As I look around with ABG in mind I find someone or the other using its products in some way or the other. Therefore, I believe the Aditya Birla Group is Big in everyone’s life and hope that they continue to impact the lives of millions globally.
PART B : How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
It is difficult to believe someone who says he is not ambitious about something or someone.
After I completed schooling in a small city in West Bengal, I had always wanted to make it big in life. Inspired by many business leaders I also wanted to lead a company someday and hence decided for an MBA going forward.
For my graduation, I wanted to move to Kolkata after having secured admission into one of the reputed colleges there. But little did I know that I would face stiff resistance from my family and relatives They wanted me to complete Graduation in my hometown and subsequently start something on my own. But I could not have let go of this opportunity as it was an important pathway to my ambitions. It was pretty tough convincing my parents as to why I wanted to go out of my hometown, giving them reasons ranging from better opportunities, quality education, adaptability and what not. But I was not successful with whatever I did. After much persuasion, I finally managed to convince them. I joined college late by almost a month but that did not shake my confidence. Another challenge was to adjust in a completely new environment, with new people, being independent. But with the support of my friends and family members, I overcame this. Overcoming all the challenges, today I can proudly say that it was my sheer determination and hard work that today I am an MBA student at one of the Top B-Schools in the country and my journey towards my ambitions is on the right track.
