Dreaming of doing an MBA and to actually do it, are two very different things. When I was dreaming about it, it felt so easy and I thought that I would do it comfortably. Being a lazy person, I liked to procrastinate things. I was very optimistic about things and I thought everything would be easy. When I joined IIFT, my perspective changed. From avoiding things to trying out things- IIFT was a new bundle of surprise. From sleeping 10 hours a day, I started sleeping 2-3 hours a day. This broadened my horizon towards MBA by leaps and bounds.
During my engineering, I was always late for my lectures. I kept innovative excuses for the same. But at IIFT, I learnt the art of coming early to the class. I realized that if I am late for the class even by a second, I may not get the attendance. I also realized that the deadlines are ‘sacrosanct’ at IIFT. It made me understand the difference between 12:00 am and 11:59:59 pm. This transformation is life-changing for me. It has taught me the thing that I had always been missing in my life - ‘Discipline’.
One thing that MBA taught me is to look things from different perspectives. I started to look at both sides of the coin more inquisitively. Initially when I was allotted C9 hostel, I thought that this is the worst thing that could ever happen to me, but with time I realized that it is actually beneficial for me. Through this I have been able to manage time more efficiently and it has sounded the death knell for my laziness.
