Challenges are part and parcel of life and they come for a reason - to push your limits, to improve your skills and more importantly to make you stronger. I have also faced challenges while accomplishing my ambitions and they have made me a better and stronger person.

The failure that really changed my personality and helped me in becoming a better person was the rejection from the Infosys interview. I know it is not a big deal getting rejected from a company but for a young boy who had an ambition of going into Infosys and being called an Infoscion, it was a heartbreaking moment. I cried for a few hours that night but then contemplated what went wrong for me and made a list of my shortcomings along with a plan to improve upon them for my next interview. That process helped me in identifying myself better and I delved deeper into my personality.

Reasons I found for my failure were - lack of preparation, overconfidence and nervousness. From the next day onwards I started working on the preparation part, started to focus on smaller things like studying chapter wise, accuracy and focusing on the process rather than expecting the results. In a week’s time I had to give an interview for WIPRO, and this time, I was all prepared and full of confidence rather than being overconfident and careless.

I gave the interview with a calm mind and focused on the process rather than thinking about what would happen afterwards. I got selected for WIPRO eventually but I saw a shift in my personality in a week’s time. I realised how important it is to be prepared, be process oriented rather than being result oriented and most importantly, be humble because “No matter how good you are, there is always someone better than you”.

The result of being process oriented helped me to crack the interview of Blue Star Ltd. as wella few months later as all the hard work that I put in during my preparation for the WIPRO interview helped me a lot that time which made me realise one more important lesson in life that “Hard Work never goes in vain”.

All these challenges and lessons have helped me to become a better person in life and have prepared me to face any further challenge in life with determination.

Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life

Aditya Birla Group (ABG) - a corporation in the league of Fortune 500 and a worth of US $44.3 billion indicates how gigantic it is as an organisation but what we might not get to know with these facts and figures is the way it has transformed and eased our lives on a daily basis. I am going to share a similar experience of mine in this article depicting how big Aditya Birla Group has been in my life.

Though Aditya Birla Group is omnipresent, their Fashion and Retail Segment has really created an impact on me as an individual, be it the Global Fashion Statement set by Louis Philippe or sophistication of a Van Heusen suit or the smart casuals in my wardrobe by Pantaloons, these are not just brands but an experience which will remain with the buyer forever.

I remember the same experience when I entered into a Louis Philippe showroom for the first time, a few years back, to purchase a 3 piece suit for myself. Everyone knows about the quality and sophistication of a Louis Philippe product but what really amazed me was the support from the staff and the manager there who helped me in picking the right suit. They educated me about the various trends going in the global market and what will suit my personality. Such personal assistance was something I did not find anywhere else before. The utter professionalism along with such nuances on a customer’s choice made me a loyal customer of Louis Philippe for a lifetime.

This experience taught me that you can create a company with a product but to transform it into a brand, you need strong values, which were inculcated in the Louis Philippe employees by ABG.

Not only for particular events but ABG touches our lives on a daily basis as well, knowingly or unknowingly. From packing my lunch in a Freshwrapp Aluminium foil to making payments via BHIM ABPB UPI for my daily needs, ABG is a constant in life.

ABG understands what a consumer wants and produces the same but more importantly, they know how to take care of the environment as well. Sustainability is one of their key factors while producing or promoting any of their product/services, be it the continuous effort of theirs to reduce their energy and carbon footprints or be it the IDEA Advertisement Campaign to Save Paper with the catchy tag line of “Ek IDEA jo badal de aapki Duniya”.

Overall, ABG is not just a company that focuses on being profitable instead it focuses on being a Brand which produces customer-oriented products/services along with socially and environmentally responsible.

ABG has set an example and has created an aura which other big companies are still trying to follow and that’s what leaders do.
