Since my formative years at school, I used to do good in studies, but when I joined my undergrad college, I became heedless and started taking my studies for granted. I started to bank on my past laurels and achievements and that was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made in my journey so far.
As a result, my grades started spiraling downwards and, consequently, I was unable to sit for the Pre-placement interview of a leading firm. That setback was a turning point in my life and I realized that life isn’t about adding laurels to our credentials so that we can tip-toe our way to our deathbed. Rather, it’s a constant journey wherein you must strive to be better than yesterday. We must learn and act upon our failures rather than running away from them. As rightly said by Mr. K.M. Birla, “Failure is not fatal, failure is inevitable. If you don’t fail, it perhaps means you aren’t taking enough risks.” After that incident, I ensured that I worked hard daily without fail. At the end of my final year of engineering, I was able to bag a placement in an organization of repute. I’ve been fortunate enough to currently pursue my Masters Of Business Administration at IIFT where this value is inculcated in students right from the first day itself.
Why Aditya Birla Group is Big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group has been one of the pioneers of the transformation of India from the early days of Independence to becoming a global superpower today. With a diverse presence across various sectors such as metals, cement, telecom, fashion, financial services, etc., Aditya Birla Group truly impacts our life in Big ways.
My earliest memory of Aditya Birla Group comes from the iconic advertisements of Idea Cellular on televisions. Having been an old user of Vodafone Idea, I truly understand how the brand focusses on providing value and addressing customer grievances. My father works in the Indian Railways, which gets its major share of copper requirement from Birla Copper. As a civil engineer, Ultratech cement has truly been the engineer’s choice for me. Being the largest producer of grey cement, ready-mix concrete and white cement in India, Ultratech has immensely contributed to all the beautiful infrastructures we see around us such as the likes of the Bandra-Worli Sea link.
ABFRL’s iconic brands namely Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England have made a household name for themselves in the minds of every Indian. They aptly complement me in my shopping requirements whether it's formal, casual or partywear. Also, Pantaloons & Planet fashion have been the go-to destination for me and my family for an all-purpose garment shopping experience.
For ABG, everything is BIG. So, when it comes to CSR they ensure its done right. With an outreach of 7.5 million people annually, ABG currently works in 5000 villages, runs 56 schools and 20 hospitals. They have treated over a million patients and immunized 70 million children against polio till date.
ABG is not just another multinational conglomerate, it is a way of life for my generation.
