We, humans, have evolved from thousands of years. Evolving, improving, adapting day by day year by year and are still evolving. Evolution didn’t happen in the course of a few years or a few centuries as a matter of fact. Every day, every minute we as humans found something extraordinary in ordinary and constantly improved ourselves. Similarly, the key to success is improving, adapting and most importantly finding something extraordinary in the ordinary.
I am an engineer, with previous work experience in Information Technology and currently pursuing an MBA. I would be the most common species found in an MBA school. So, what differentiates me? I had the same question some time back. Hit by the existential crisis, it took me some old monk and introspection that the way forward would be finding extraordinary in ordinary. I took the onus on myself and set the task. From the most mundane of things to pitching an idea to the client, I tried to find extraordinary in the ordinary realm of things. Be it the colour of the text in PPT or travelling with friends, finding something different, having a different perspective broke the shackles of melancholy and made me more productive, creative and most importantly happy. It starts with things as trivial as which path to choose while going to home or office. Sometimes admiring the extraordinary view while going to office helped me to curb Monday blues.
It is often said that a dictionary resembles more to our world than a novel does because the world is not a coherent sequence of action. But to bring a sense of sanity and order it is us who find the words of wisdom from the dictionary and make an epic out of it. Looking at the past year and what I have achieved, be it an early promotion or cracking CAT, IIFT or XAT or converting many of my dream institutes, the thing that I admire the most is finding something extraordinary in ordinary because it helped me achieve extraordinary results ordinarily.
Why Aditya Birla Group Is Big in Your Life
As I try to find extraordinary in ordinary things, the company that resonates with me and my belief are Aditya Birla Group. While other companies sell their product Aditya Birla group creates customer value. They just don’t connect people they connect lives and I can feel this whenever I speak to my grandmother and sense her happiness. During 2013 floods in Surat, Idea saved the anxiety and helplessness of parents as I was stuck in my college surrounded by floodwater.
Aditya Birla is a group that has evolved and adapted according to time but at the same time holding on to its ethos and values. I can sense this very principle as I see my grandfather wearing his Safari suit (Grasim) and I getting dressed up in my Van Heusen formals and we both shoot off to work. The quote of Kumar Mangalam Birla sums up my whole experience “One feels very blessed to be born into a family-like Birla family, which is a household name in India, which stands for tradition, is yet contemporary, stands for trust.”
Aditya Birla is a group which materializes peoples dream. Through Ultratech cement Aditya Birla group has allowed people to build their homes, government to build bridges and whatnot. The name Birla stands for trust hence people and point in case my dad chose Ultratech cement to build their home, their dream, the project which cost their lifetime savings.
So, the answer to the question of how Aditya Birla Group is big in my life? Well, there are certain things that you can’t quantify, so is the role of ABG in my life.
