ABGLP – WOO ME
Part A - Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life.
ABG group is big for me because of the fashion presence it has all over India and the world. It also has a trustworthy and reliable brand value. I am a fashion freak and a shopaholic and I absolutely am a fan of the brands owned by ABG group. My choices of favorite brand have changed from Forever 21 in teenage years for quirky fashionable clothes to Allen Solly and Van Heusen for the formal wear after I started working. It’s a big deal that all these brands are owned by ABG. The online fashion brand abof has created a good brand image as soon as ABG got in that space. I have ordered clothes from there; the prices are quite reasonable and the quality of the clothes are really worth every penny. I also like the way how abof made fashion for middle class people so trendy and affordable.
For retail business as ABFRL hosts India's largest fashion network with over 11,000 points of sale, which include close to 2,500 exclusive ABFRL brand outlets across 750+ cities and towns, 4,900+ multi-brand outlets and 4000+ department stores across the country. It has ~22 million loyalty members as of 31st March 2018. This is quite commendable as a brand.
When I visit any other countries outside India, seeing the Indian brand being so successful makes me proud. It also re-establishes the trust and reliability of the brand.
Apart from the fashion, I know ABG group is famous for other brands they have like UltraTech cement. I live in Mumbai and the famous Bandra – Worli sea link is built by none other than the ABG.
Part B - How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
While working in my previous company (IBM), I was selected to undergo a training provided by the client at their location- England, United Kingdom. After completing the rigorous training, I single-handedly delivered many releases. Apart from the challenges initially, I worked from scratch - brainstorming requirements, planning, estimating, executing to documenting and delivering the releases on time with utmost quality. Later, I was given a team and I worked as their mentor, leader and supervisor. I tried to heed to their professional as well as personal problems. I always motivated people and helped them believing in themselves to be creative, innovative and unconventional.
During my undergraduate years, I taught students from 1st to 10th standard along with managing my own studies. I handled students from diverse backgrounds which helped me in learning a lot of things in this process like time, schedule and people management. I was passionate about teaching and did my extra bit for helping people by sharing my knowledge and experience.
I have lived in 5 cities and traveled to a lot of other cities as well. It helped me being culturally fit and in understanding different cultures and how human behavior changes as we move.
I tried to remain calm and optimistic in situations of stress by doing breathing exercises and ceasing to think negatively. I tried to manage my time and work schedule beforehand to avoid burdening. I do not procrastinate and focus on planning things strategically.
