It was a happy Friday morning and I was on my way to work at 9:00 AM. I was expecting to close my deliverables early and call it a day and go out with friends! Once I stepped inside office, I was called in by my manager for an urgent stand up meeting. I was informed that today is going to be one heck of a long day, because client’s senior management wanted an update progress, which was earlier planned for next week! Quickly I got to work hoping to complete it on time.
It had been a long rough day with back to back calls and meetings and KT sessions! Never in my life did I expect a Friday could be this long! However, client appreciated our work and was happy with my progress. I was drained by evening and I was on no mood to go out and party! I decided to visit a mall nearby to indulge in some retail therapy. I was strolling in the mall lost, confused and tired. I entered a store without paying attention to what store it was and selected a few items and moved towards the billing counter. The cashier told me that I would get all the items on 50% discount! This bought a huge smile on my face. I looked up and saw that it was Forever 21! I ran back inside the store only to find the happiest word written all over the place in red. ‘SALE!’. My happiness knew no bounds and I was like a kid in a candy store. I went back and purchased everything that I got my hands on! Soon I forgot that I had a rough day at work!
I started heading home and my stomach starts rumbling because of all the shopping I did! I stopped my MORE supermarket to quench my thirst and satisfy my hunger. I stepped inside MORE and purchased cold-pressed juices and items required to make gluten-free, vegan, keto yet low-fat meal! Because I have got to lose weight to be able to fit into dresses which I got in a smaller size!!!
Went back to home and made a happy meal for myself and was thinking about how brands of Aditya Birla Group turned my gloomy day into a happy one!

My family moved to the US owing to my father's work commitments, so I got an opportunity to do my schooling in the US for 2 years. I found it difficult to cope up with the new education system, new people, new culture and new life during my initial day. Life has hit a rock-bottom overnight from being a top performer to failing to cope up with new life. Although I had sea of opportunities surrounding me, I was too underconfident to grab them. Life became tough wherein I was trying to survive one day at a time! Once I started interacting with my peers and teachers with no inhibitions, everyone around became more accepting me and helping me cope up and I felt being at home away from home. I was soon able to converse comfortably with my teachers and peers. The more I conversed with them the more I got to know about the new culture and their lifestyle. On an academic front initially, I found few subjects to be completely new or different from Indian curriculum. With extra effort and taking help from peers and spending some extra time post school time, I soon stood as one of the top performers at school and everything seem to be falling in its right place. This exposure made me an adaptable person who can easily settle in any environment. This is one experience which shaped me as a person and I now look at challenges as a new opportunity to learn and grow as a person.
