Dressed in formals & reporting to class 204, I knew a new chapter in my life had begun. Unaware of the roller coaster journey ahead of me, I took a plunge into the life of an IIFTian. The registration and orientation process had completed and we were introduced to the seniors who guided us through our following week in IIFT.
The following week was filled with fun and exciting activities. Exploring your campus through ‘Treasure Hunt’, or performing a skit together brought us, the batch of 2018-20, into a family. A family, who on the face of the earth was oblivion to the existence of another individual. Each individual with different personality easily blended with each other that an ambivert like me had ended up making a bunch of friends. The feeling of belongingness is not only limited to our batch mates but also extends to our seniors. The support they have provided us and continue to provide us is unfathomable.
The 2 day interview process for various clubs, cells and committees in our college was unforgettable. All of us sitting in our respective classes, waiting for our name to be called out were nerve-wrecking yet exciting. Seeing your batch mates on fire, one interview after another, and helping them prepare for the questions opened new door of friendship amongst us. Now, sitting on the edge on the chair, waiting for the so called result, we unknowingly spent whole night sitting and chatting and discussing about various experiences from our life. Ever since then, I am getting the opportunity not only to learn from IIFT but also from my peers and seniors who have become an integrated part of my life.
Is it in the air of IIFT or seeped in the culture, who knows, that it makes one feel welcomed and at home.

ABG Company:
If given an opportunity, I would really like to work in Aditya Birla and Fashion Retail Limited. Fashion is an ever changing market where the trends of the past may become the fashion norms in the future. This segment of Aditya Birla caters to the masses. It provides goods to people from middle income class to a high net worth individual through its various ranges of brands like Van Heusen, Peter England, Allen Solly and Pantaloons. It has footprint not only in India but also in the international market by entering into partnership with brands like ‘Simon Carter’ and ‘Ted Baker’. It also has extended its brand into new categories like footwear, bags, sportswear etc. With the advent of digitalization, Pantaloons under this segment has made its products available on leading e-commerce sites.
Working under this segment, will be enriching and a great learning experience as it has its forte in various segments within fashion sector. I will be able to learn how a company adopts, plans and implements changes in its organization in this dynamic market catering to masses. What strategy does the brands within Aditya Birla use to stay afloat and ahead of its competitor? Further, getting an opportunity to learn on real time basis regarding various functions that are involved in smooth functioning of an organization.
