I am Rajasekhar from NITIE 2021 batch. Aditya Birla Group has been a part of my life in many instances. I am passionate about singing and have also given some stage performances. I vividly remember my first stage show in undergrad where I got my first branded shirt from Vanheusen sport. This is the first time I am wearing a branded shirt. This made me so good about myself and my confidence grew, eventually, I gave a very good performance. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) is a part of USD 44.3 billion Aditya Birla Group. With revenue of Rs. 7,181 crore and a retail space of 7 million sq. ft. (as on 31st March 2018), it is India’s first billion-dollar pure-play fashion powerhouse with an elegant bouquet of leading fashion brands and retail formats.
ABFRL hosts India’s largest fashion network with over 11,000 points of sale, which include close to 2,500 exclusive ABFRL brand outlets across 750+ cities and towns, 4,900+ multi-brand outlets and 4000+ department stores across the country. It has ~22 million loyalty members as of 31st March 2018.
Later while working I bought formals from Allen Solly. Post to the CAT I was shopping for a suit for my interviews. Being from a modest family, I had a tough time searching for a suit for my interview as I had a restricted budget. I could get a good suit from the house of Vanheusen at the desired rate. I am grateful to ABG family as it was a part of many important moments in my life. Later I gifted a dress to my sister from forever 21 which is the premium brand for women wear in the ABG group. For my sister wedding also, I had brought a wedding suit from Vanheusen. In the sale period, my family would like to shop in Pantaloons. My father started liking Linen shirts and after seeing an ad from Linen club he asked me to buy 2 shirts from Linen club. Later onwards for every festival, I used to gift a Linen shirt to my father from Linen Club. ABG has become a part of our life.
The challenges I faced and how did I overcome it.
When I decided to do an MBA after having 4 years of work ex many had suggested not to leave the job. But I took risk of leaving a good job in Broadridge financial solutions for preparation of CAT. Challenges are just a part and parcel of life. When I am faced with a challenge, my first thought is to not see it as a negative. The moment we bring in that negativity, it becomes twice as hard to face the challenge. But the moment you see it just like a wall for you to break down, you get powered up. I went to home I had spent time with my parents around 1 year cleared CAT and Interviews and got admitted to one of the prestigious institutions in India Gods own Campus –NITIE. You want to break down the wall, no matter how high it is, and reach the other side to achieve your dreams.
The next step is always to plan out your way. Also, you would not feel stress or panicked because you have a plan in hand that you can stick to. It is equally important to execute the plan. It would be of no use if you cannot bring your plan to action.
There is no challenge in the world that you cannot overcome. All you need is the right spirit!
