It was from my 11th class onwards that I really started thinking about my future and what I wanted to do in life. Until then I was just a kid being a kid. During this time I began working hard and started making it a habit to do so.
At my first job I began as a credit officer, where I had to go out and give loans to the right people, who would actually repay. In the start it was difficult being an introvert, but then I forced myself to talk to strangers, tag along with seniors and star performers and within 9 months I was an Assistant Branch Manager.
This was the first time I held a managerial position and had a team under me. During this same time my colleague had left the organization to start his own and convinced a good chunk of our clients to leave us, apart from running up a lot of bad assets. So the targets for me was much higher. I began setting target areas, giving fixed achievable targets but with no compromise, developing and later implementing an incentive plan linked to recovery and continuously conducted on field visits. We worked hard to build deep community ties by regularly keeping in touch, visiting or sending gifts for children’s marriages etc. By the end of it all I had won the Best Performer Award for 3 years straight.
During the whole time I never gave up on studying, I decided to give a shot at CA and CS intermediate to improve my domain knowledge in finance and succeeded in my first attempt and then I decided to start my MBA journey to grow to the next level . so I started my NMAT prep and came 2nd on the merit list.
