Initially, I tried to come out of my cocoon by taking an initiative to interact with my classmates and seniors. At that point of time, I realised that it is just a mental roadblock which is refraining me from interacting with new people. Once I was comfortable enough, I decided to join various cells and committees to expand my connections and hone my inter-personal skills.
In the final year, I was appointed as the President of NSS Unit of Hansraj College, where I was entrusted with a huge responsibility of leading a team of over 850 volunteers towards the motto, “Not me, but you”. At that point of time, I faced a challenge in striking out a balance between my academics and the professional obligations. This was the time when I learnt the art of time management and prioritising the tasks. I used planner and reminders to make sure that I don’t miss out on any of my commitments. I used to plan for the upcoming day before going to bed. And hence, I was successful in taking the organisation to new heights along with maintaining my good academic records. Moreover, I was able to secure a good job in Deloitte. Hence, I signed off from the position with a contented heart and no guilts.
