The most interesting thing about challenges is whatever may be the outcome one also learns a thing or two during his effort to overcome a challenge. Being a student for major part of my life so far and having no professional experience whatsoever almost all of my achieved ambitions have been related to academics. But I would like to tell about a particular year in my life when I had to face multiple challenges to accomplish the job at hand.
It was during the third year of my under graduate study when I was elected as the general secretary of cultural council of my college. The job description was to manage the council affairs and finance and conduct the cultural activities in the college. The task sounds easy at first glance and I also had the same thinking at the time of filling nominations. But the reality was a bit different and there were intricacies to the work which were never visible to an outsider. Here I learned my first lesson it was never to back out from a task you wished for no matter what the adversities you face. With the guidance of my faculties at the college and my seniors I was able to streamline the functions to be performed, here I learned the second lesson which is to multitask. Many people would advise us to multitask but one cannot become an expert at it or even practice it until they first have the need for it. Lastly I learned the value of time management, because when someone has to perform multiple tasks more often than not either they would forget a couple of them or would need to prioritize. A simple trick which I followed was to make a to-do list of the next day and score myself by the number of task I was able to complete at the end of each day, trying to improve the score everyday provides you witch a chance to compete with yourself.
Although I am not aware of the next challenge which I would face but I am sure that using the learnings from my experiences I would be up for the task, even if I fail it would only add a couple more learnings in the treasure trove.
