Part- B: Overcoming challenges to achieve my ambitions in life.
Throughout a person life, they are faced with different obstacles and challenges of all varied types. Challenges are a part of our everyday life. Challenges makes us stronger and without them life becomes boring and too easy. My life is no different. Coming from a middle-class family from studying in government school to getting a call from IIM Bodh Gaya my life was full of obstacles, challenges and fears. My life has been full of ups and downs related towards my academic goals. I used to be an average student in school but my life took a turn when I moved to Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh for continuing my further studies. I was in class 9 and everyone around me used to talk only about cracking IIT-JEE and going into top IITs. Being an average student, I didn’t have any slightest idea about IIT and what is it all about. This was my first exposure to real life competition that’s going in the world. I had no goals, no career aspirations and I never even thought about it. D-day was here and my parent’s worst nightmare came true, I couldn’t clear IIT-JEE exam. It left my parents heart shattered. This was the day I clearly defined my goal of making “my parents proud”. During graduation, I gave CAT exam but couldn’t qualify and this failure turned into depression for me. Later, I started working with a firm but I always had that goal in my mind. Few months later, I left my job and was preparing for four competitive exams and one of them was CAT. During my preparation, I paid complete attention, focus, determination, resilience, self-discipline, commitment and hard work is as they say is always the key for success. Result of the first exam came, then the second and then the third. I couldn’t make it in all three exams but CAT results came on Jan 5, 2019 and half a month later I started getting calls from IIMs. I went for interview round but I didn’t tell my parents about my interview call. Nearly 2 months later I started getting admission calls from one of the top management institutes of India, the IIMs. Later that day I forwarded “call letter” mail to my father and within few minutes I got a call back from my parents. I still remember the sense of joy and pride on their face. It was really a great journey so far. It took all my will power and I never gave up and tried to stay positive. I never lost hope and there was an inner drive of compassion, confidence, positivity, motivation and strict time management that helped me visualize my goal clearly. Finally, I can say I’m top 0.01% of the students that made into IIM.
