The Sunrise IIM is located in the city of Visakhapatnam, ‘The Jewel of East coast’. This port city is a tourist’s haven and a major cultural and industrial hub. It has well-connected transport facilities with decent air connectivity which makes it easy for IIM V to attract faculty and recruiters. This Cosmopolitan city, thriving with life and energy is ranked high on quality of life and cleanliness.
With students representing 19 States, IIM V is a version of Mini-India. In spite of being a new institute, there is well laid system in place with the mentoring of IIM B. Pedagogy from IIM B is top class. The infrastructure of classrooms and hostels is very sophisticated, possibly best among the new IIMs started in 2015. The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has recently allotted 240 acre land for building the permanent campus with world class facilities. The campus is always buzzing with activity, be it student clubs, committee meetings or competitions. There is a week-long International immersion program as part of the course ‘Business Planning in International Markets', which aims at understanding the market conditions, regulations, competitive and location advantages of a foreign country. Teaching is based on Harvard model case studies which gives better understanding of real world corporate scenarios. The management has done huge work in building up the corporate relations through various summits and conclaves. Located in a travel friendly city makes it easier for industry engagement with students through guest lectures. There is a good record of summer internships and attractive final placement offers. Add to that, the support from the state govt. of Andhra Pradesh, you get a plethora of opportunities at IIM V.
New IIMs offer opportunities that are different from the established ones. One should be ready to work hard and toil to build the legacy of a new institute. Though we miss strong alumni base, which is the back bone of college, we intend to be one for the coming batches. Being part of the initial batches has some unique freedoms and opportunities to set up the culture and be part of institute building process. Here is the opportunity and flexibility to reshape the culture the way you want. There is immense scope for designing and creating things from absolute scratch, seeing them take shape and get implemented. It could be a new club, committee or any initiative. Learning and growth happens in this process. At IIMs you are constantly evolving at a rapid pace.
Finally, an IIM is an IIM. The brand value that it creates along with it is immense. One can carry the legacy of IIM throughout their life. The learning and the unique experience of being part of IIM family serves as launch pad for future career. IIM V has just started the journey of excellence. It’s only a matter of time before it enters big league since an institute’s life is to be measured in decades. With the motto ‘Vidya param daivatam’ which translates to ‘knowledge is the supreme god’, IIM V has embarked on its journey of becoming the Destination of growth, learning and excellence in ‘The city of Destiny’.

I would like to work in Aditya Birla Retail Limited (ABRL), one of the India’s largest supermarket chains. ABRL offers immense value for home makers. The company’s customer base has grown to 20 million, all of whom enjoy a host of customized offers and great savings. ABRL has a ubiquitous presence throughout India.
Data is of paramount importance when analyzing customer behavior. Being a student of Computer Science and having an experience in IT field, I can comfortably leverage the power of big data using Predictive analytics to deliver meaningful and custom-built offers to individual customers based on their shopping history.
