What makes IIM Trichy unique?
IIM Trichy was founded in 2011 as one of the seven IIM’s the government had setup during their 11th Five-Year Plan. However, today IIM Trichy is ranked 7th among all the IIMs.
“Gnanam Anantham”(Knowledge is endless) is the motto of the institute and with an emphasis on case studies as a module of teaching, IIM Trichy prepares students for real-time situations. As it is student driven in most of its activities, to encourage all round development, IIM Trichy welcomes improvement. IIM Trichy believes in “The Celebration Of Learning” and that is what the LOGO represents. It is on its way to create many more success stories.
IIM Trichy is changing with time and it doesn’t want to be known as just another New IIM but the best among all IIMs. It has a sprawling 175 acres new campus, with state of the art amenities. The campus is in proximity to major cities like Bangalore and Chennai and well connected via air, rail & road. Thus, IIM Trichy enjoys a great industry connect.
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is the nexus for academic and professional knowledge resources. LRC enables both creation of knowledge and access to comprehensive research resources on and off campus via its state of the art facility. SMART Classrooms that serve as value addition are integrated with video conferencing system through which up to seven concurrent locations can join for the classroom sessions and discussions.
It is the first among all new IIMs to be certified by AIU and has become the first IIM to be granted the Institute University Recognition Programme by the CFA. As part of its green initiative, IIM Trichy built a 2 Megawatt capacity solar power plant on campus and it’s the first of its kind. This makes IIM Trichy the leader of the pack in adopting cleaner alternatives to power its campus.
IIM Trichy has MoUs with renowned B Schools in France, Hungary and other European Nations have been signed to facilitate Student Exchange Programs. To enhance cross cultural exposure, a course on International Business Practices is offered as an elective.
Students at IIM Trichy are taught not to be just good managers but responsible ones – all the students as a part of their graduation requirements must complete a project to reconnect business success with social progress, MAD (Make a Difference) projects aim to produce socially responsible corporate managers and leaders.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I have experience in working closely with my family retail stores and distribution chains. This gave me an exposure to the retail industry. I follow the industry very closely and am very much interested to work in the industry. During my first year at IIM Trichy I realized the need of a club which can serve the retail needs of the students. Me with few of my friends co-founded the Merchandising and Retail Team of IIM Trichy and it now serves all the retail needs of IIMTians. So, working for Aditya Birla Retail would be a dream come true for me.
