My name is Kshitij Chittar. I have a work experience of three years in a family run business. We are very small scale industry working in rural area and manufacturing food processing equipments. To grow from a small scale industry to established brand, I think, journey is very tough because of many small hurdles that we face. It is said that it is easy to earn billions from millions but it is very difficult to earn 100 from 10. So, to have a complete understanding of the business I decided to pursue MBA.
Initially, I thought 'Business' is all about how you raise the funds and how you manage them. So, decided that I will go for Finance in MBA. Therefore I started reading about colleges, talked to many coaching class teachers, many industry persons and off course my seniors to decide about the college. Unanimously the answer that I got from many of them was to go for “IIM Trichy”.
As I am interested in Finance, I searched who my professors will be. I get to know about Professor Rohan Chinchwadkar, who featured on BloombergQuint’s Mutual Fund Show on the theme ‘Measuring Portfolio Performance. I was amazed that every faculty here is extremely qualified and quality result oriented. I think, IIM Trichy has the best faculties for Finance. IIM Trichy ranks 15th in NIRF ranking. So, before converting IIM Trichy I was daydreaming about this glorious. institute.
I started following FinvesT group which is our Finance and investments club. I really liked the quality of work they do. There are many other clubs and committees in IIM Trichy like MAC, The marketing club, Matrix - The Systems and Technology Club, Consulate - The Consulting Club, E-cell of IIM Trichy and many more committees. Every committee has proved their potential in very glorious way. Wherever they have participated they did not come back with empty hands. So before I know it, I wanted to be a part of each and every committee. After interviews I had nothing but a time so, I searched many other colleges, their culture and on every ground, I found Trichy was superior than any other institute.
IIM Trichy really has a word-class infrastructure. Just looking at the photos of academic sections, Library, hostels I was really excited to join this institute. Considering all these factors I decided to choose IIM Trichy. Now I am here experiencing most special and precious days of my life. I know me and my other friends have a great responsibility to carry forward this baton and to reach take this college into the top 10 institutes list. For that we will give our maximum efforts.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and Why?
I would like to work in Aditya Birla Science and Technology Company Private Limited. This company emphasizes on Innovation. I am a MBA aspirant at IIM Trichy backed by a degree in a chemical engineering. Right now company is working on several areas like metallurgy, fibre science and textiles, material and surface sciences, and chemistry. As I have a basic knowledge of these I think I can be an addition to the strategy & planning team. I will try my best to not limit innovations to product only but to apply to managerial decisions also.
